Eat crow and enjoy....the game next week is for the division lead. :fire Cowboys
Umm they didnt give up that many rushing yards, dingus.

YEs, they played even better then I expected. I expected a lot of yards given up but the Eagles defense to make the big stops and create turnovers to keep the Eagles in teh game. But they did one better, pretty much shutting down the Giants.  :yay

Christmas will be a fun day

No crow for me, thanks.

Hey... like I said... the defense did not make all the mistakes they had made over the last few weeks that put them in bad positions in the first place.  Did I expect them to play this well?  Hell no.  Nobody did.  Doesn't make what I said any less true though.  In the past few weeks... they sure as hell haven't shown that they were going to play like they did today.  I'm happy as hell they did though.

Wrong. Eagles defense has, for the last couple weeks, made big stops, forced teams to kick FG's, and created turnovers. This week, they did all that AND held the rushing yards/total yards of the other team to a minimum. That's the part that I wasn't expecting.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Almost, that is.  8)

Don't look now, but not only could the Eagles actually win the NFC East, with just a little help they could even get a bye.  HA!

:-D :-D :-D

It looks like he's trying to kick Sheli in the nuts this time.

Gotta give some props to Cole.  He was the goat in the first game and the hero in this one by locking up that game.  Creepy.

Slow down with all your silly ass chest pounding and read what I wrote.  I said that against the Giants, the defense had not made all the mistakes like they had been the past few weeks.  The bad tackling, the missed assignments which resulted in big chunks of yardage being eaten up , etc... wasn't there today as much as it had been.  They played pretty solid all around today and played with much more emotion and heart than they have in weeks... which is what I was saying they'd need to do in order to beat the Giants.

They got 4 turnovers against the Giants after getting 6 in their previous 4 games.
They held the Giants to 2-9 in 3rd down conversions after allowing 22-52 their last 4 games.
They held the Giants to 88 total yds rushing after giving up 200 yds or more in 4 out of their previous 6.

I'd say that's improvement for the defense, not doing what they have been doing... but don't let facts get in the way of your ranting.

up yo ass, tim carter.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Clark on SF said that the headsets once again went out during the game. Happens a little too often up there, no?

Quotes from yesterday:

Quote"Stop sleeping on us, man," Westbrook screamed in the tunnel of Giants Stadium after the game. "Give it up. Stop underestimating us. It's time. It's time to start recognizing."

Quote"They stuck with their game plan," Giants all-pro running back Tiki Barber said. "They wore us down, kept giving those guys the ball. That's how you win ball games."

Quote"I liked having it all clinched," Lurie said. But next Monday "is a chance for us to win the fifth division [title] in six years. That's special. We want this one right now: this division, this year, right now."

Quote"We were tired of hearing how we couldn't stop the run," said Eagles defensive end and sometime tackle Darren Howard. "Believe me, that kind of talk is a motivating factor."

Quote"We found some glitches and fixed them, but most of all we came here to shut people up," Cole said.

Quote"They want to talk about this guy getting old," Brown said. "That's crap. This guy has the motor of a 23-year-old coming out. He's flying around. He's forever making plays for us. I don't know how he does it." talking about Dawk)

Quote"Westbrook kept texting me and talking to me and said, 'I have faith in you' and 'keep it going,' so things like that, you want to play for guys like him," Mahe said. "I am just grateful for the opportunity and I can't complain about any role I have."

Mahe credited special-teams coordinator John Harbaugh for the successful return.

"Coach Harbaugh said they will over-pursue our wedge, and then the guys just made great blocks," said Mahe

Quote"Jeff comes with a lot of energy and fire out there, man. We just feed off that out there. He's a feisty guy," Thomas said. "He acts like a defensive end out there sometimes. He gets all fired up, fussing at everybody. But that's good, it keeps everybody on their edge."

Die Hard sent me a text message around 1:30.  He said 'one fight down, looking for #2'.

:-D

That was farging awesome yesterday.  Great effort by the Eagles, especially the offensive line.  They dominated, plain & simple.
