Eat crow and enjoy....the game next week is for the division lead. :fire Cowboys
Umm they didnt give up that many rushing yards, dingus.

YEs, they played even better then I expected. I expected a lot of yards given up but the Eagles defense to make the big stops and create turnovers to keep the Eagles in teh game. But they did one better, pretty much shutting down the Giants.  :yay

Christmas will be a fun day

No crow for me, thanks.

Hey... like I said... the defense did not make all the mistakes they had made over the last few weeks that put them in bad positions in the first place.  Did I expect them to play this well?  Hell no.  Nobody did.  Doesn't make what I said any less true though.  In the past few weeks... they sure as hell haven't shown that they were going to play like they did today.  I'm happy as hell they did though.

Andy Reid deserves some credit too. He's been blasted (and rightfully so in most cases) lately but today might have been his best coaching job to date. It was a big game and he was aggressive and managed the game well, which was one of his weaknesses.

Areed. Reid made some excellent in-game adjustments, though Morningwood might have been the playcaller....but they were pretty balanced today, and that was definately key to coming out with a win.

Marty was.

I really liked him going for it at the end of the half.

Also...

Did y'all see that shot of Ernie Accorsi? Dude has a black eye. I need a screen shot...

The playcalling today was EXCELLENT!  The misdirection on Buck's TD run was beautiful.  I had about fell out of my chair when they showed the play count at one point and the Eagles had 22 rushes and 19 passes.  :o

Marty needs to call the plays from here on out.

If the Eagles win the division and the Saints lose one more game then Andy should get coach of the year. Someone had to say it and Andy has got this team bouncing back after falling under .500.

That's retarded. Payton turned around a moribund franchise in a city that needed an emotional boost, with great personnel selections and in-game coaching. Reid is leading a still-underachieving team limping into the playoffs, which they would have no chance of sniffing if the NFC had more than one solid team in it.

I'm pretty sure Marty's been calling the plays for the last two years.

This team is only underachieving in the fans eyes.

Pretty much every analyst even Diddy had the Eagles somewhere around 8-8.

To be more precise, I think a committee of Reid and Marty have called the plays for the last couple seasons, and that this committee is still calling the plays today. I don't buy for a second that there was a fundamental changeover in playcalling duties in the first taterskin game; the team just whooped them so badly that Reid wanted to finally acknowledge Marty's contributions to the media.

Brad was the OC before this year so it wouldve been him and Reid

Then where would Childress have come in before this season then?

He was the OC... and Andy made the calls.  I don't think Marty was involved in playcalling as well.  Too many chefs in the kitchen.

Not that this matters too much... but this put a smile on my face.

This was definitely the most complete game the Eagles put together all year against who some on this board thought was a superior opponent who would make quick work of the Eagles.

I had a feeling that this game was going to have a playoff atmosphere, and it sure did. It was just an overall great game and a great win. Garcia really played well. He bounced right back, marched them down the field, and threw a perfect pass to Reggie Brown.

The only black eye were the number of penalties the Eagles racked up. That definitely needs to be corrected going into Dallas next week. This game was called very tight though, the refs did not allow them to really play out there today and called a lot of ticky tack fouls. I thought Sheldon's pass interference in the end zone could have went either way, and when the game is on the line like it was at that moment I hate when refs intervene. Even if Sheldon didn't have the arm bar on Plaxico the ball was pretty much uncatchable.

Great win. If this win doesn't put at least some confidence in anyone then I don't know what will. Great win, on the road, in December. The Eagles are playing with confidence that is pretty apparent. With the NFC the way it is; the Bears barely beating the Bucs at home, Dallas losing to the Saints, the Saints losing to the Skins at home, Seattle losing at home, etc. who knows who will come out of the NFC. The Eagles are playing good ball right now. As long as they keep balanced, the O-line continues to maul people, and the D (i.e. Dawkins) can force turnovers and stay solid in the red zone this team could be fun to watch in the upcoming weeks.
