Despite the fact that I think Palin is a farging moron, on a certain level the Righties who say it is the same as a teleprompter would be right. Notes are notes. Of course there's a difference between using a tp for a major speech and using one-word talking point notes for an off-the-cuff interview/conversation, but at its sore they are the same concept.

What's so laughable about this is that she actually wrote the notes on her hand like she was a 15 year old in 10th grade. All it does is further her image as a ditzy school girl who is WAY out of her league... which is exactly what she is. I mean, of course she wrote notes to herself on the palm of her hand. It fits too perfectly with what you would expect her to do.

I get it only because I have a friend who's parents adore her.

She's like them. She's white, not that bright, understands and relates to other not that bright people who espouse the merits of 'common sense'. Most importantly, they can rally around her as a victim of the mean old liberal press and the opposite of the highly-educated/elite/ivory tower/egg-head world that they can't relate to and associate with liberalism.

the question is did she really do it because she couldnt remember those three words....as dumb as she is i refuse to believe that...which makes be think she did this on purpose...after all she didnt even attempt to hide them and blatantly looked at her hand for like three seconds at one point...i think she did this to further her every man persona to MA...i mean the people that support her like those in the video i posted yesterday can relate to what she did because its something theyd have to do to remember a few words

yup...the key here is that everything she does at this point is for money not towards any elected office (much less the presidency)...even the people in her own camp knows she has no prayer at that ever happening...so what she needs to do is keep her base alive as long as possible and stay relevant in the national media as long as possible...because as long as those two things remain in tact she will be stackin chedder

can't help but assume that's why she resigned as governor. gotta strike while the iron's hot and while i'm sure the alaskan governor makes a decent living, it's nothing in comparison to the $100k fee she's getting per public speaking appearance.

hell, 1 appearance a month for a year is probably 5+ years of her gov salary.

she has no shot at the presidency in 2012, 2016, 2020 or any other farging year for that matter. but she's got her 15 minutes and she's at least smart enough to make the most of it.

but the best part might be the fact that if she does decide to run in 2012, she'll probably create enough divide among conservative voters that it will probably ruin any legitimate republican candidate's shot at the white house.

I can't decide how I feel about this.

But it might actually be a useful suggestion. I didn't realize that this was an option the President had at his disposal. Obama considering it and offering up a few things here or there would probably be a great first step towards getting some bi-partisan support and buy-in for his smaller agenda items.
