I don't believe Obama leaves the white house to grab a burger because he wants to be on TV, I believe he does so because he simply wants to get out of the white house to grab a burger. I also don't believe it's fair to blame him for all the attention the media pays him, not that there's much wrong with this. I think Bill Maher's later points are more valid, though.
