Demon...did you know that that speech was prepared before she was even selected? lol

All that proves is that McCain's knew he would select someone with five children, a snow mobile riding husband, and one with executive experience.

She was very good delivering it.  Very good.

I didn't know Biden and Obama wrote their own speeches.  Impressive.

lol  ::) lol

i really can't believe that people watch speeches like Rudy's and they get so excited and inspired.  i mean, i know they are all lemmings and imbeciles, but really, it's so transparent.

i'm sure it's consistent with all the speakers in both conventions, but really, it's quite pathetic.

Rudy did his job perfectly.  Attack dog against Obama and Biden ("Community Organizer? Really? That's on his resume?"), bringing in the patriotism and 9-11, and that crowd was fired up and frothing.  That was his job.

Not to mention, it was a very entertaining speech, accurate or not.

QuoteYou have yet to tell me which time the Clintons, Biden, and Obama was lying.

They were "lying" the time when they were running against Obama.

Speaking of lying, Sig Heil! - I haven't seen that much hate since....well I guess since the last Repubelican convention.

Guilani is nauseating.

And hey, if Palin nailed the speech, good for her. She can recite a canned speech well. :yay   The parts I saw of it, after she spoke of her baby, she sounded snarky and whiny.

Can't wait for 10/2.  :-D

The republicans do love 9/11

Things the GOP is "too afraid" to say:

The invasion of Iraq was a diversion.
The invasion of Iraq was a mistake.
American lives were sacrificed on the basis of trumped up intelligence.
Americans were lied to.
Bush and Cheney wanted to take out Saddam Hussein without reference to the real intelligence on the (lack of) link between Iraq and 9/11.
We invaded a country that did not attack us.

They are the worst of the worst....seriously, like thugs.

You know...just once I would like to see politics without this bullshtein. Enough with the mud-slinging tactics. Enough with the fear instilling speeches.

It would be so refreshing to hear someone focus on what this country need rather than rip the shtein out of each other.

I am so sick of the Republicans. Obama and his camp have done some mud slinging, but he seems to stay focused on changing things where as the GOP likes to make people scared about terrorists, 9/11 and Iran.

It's one thing to use change to advance your career, and another to use your career to advance change.

I thought that was a good line.

But, I agree with you Phreak. I wish the real issues would come out and be discussed rather than mention an issue and sling mud.  But I think those days are long gone.

edit: I thought of more...

My opinion - why there is mud slinging and less discussion on issues and substance.  They are playing to the audience.  More so now more than ever, possibly.  I mean, really, at least half (or slightly more or slightly less) of the electorate will vote for a guy based almost entirely on style and personality and emotion.

The other half will vote almost entirely on party loyalty.

I don't see where substance plays any role at all.

If you go back to the early 1900's there was mud slinging then too. I only reference the early 1900's because one of my professors brought clips from that era's election.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

If you watched that HBO special on John Adams (2nd prez) mud slinging started fairly early on. Anything to prevent us from really discussin the issues is key.
