Geez, the left bleeding heart liberalism around here makes me wanna' puke sometimes.

Great American?? Give me a farging break. Great Americans don't get drunk, drive off cliffs and leave their mistresses in the car to die. He swam to shore and walked back to the party. He walked right houses and a fire station. Two friends returned with him to the scene of the accident. According to their later testimony, they told him what he already knew, that he was required by law to immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. His philandering lead to his wifes miscarrige and alcoholism. She had to have psychiatric treatment she was so farged up. All this while America watched.

He was admitted to Harvard, and expelled twice! Once for cheating on an exam and once for paying a student to cheat for him. When he was expelled from Harvard, he signed up for the Army mistakenly for 4 yrs. instead of 2. His father, Joe Kennedy,  pulled  strings to have his enlistment shortened to two years, and to ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea, where a war was raging.

He's a farging drunk ass who grew up to be a man and not an adult.

he made a terrible mistake and turned himself around to do more great things than all of us combined...its what america is all about...second chances redemption and doing good...hes given the better part of his life to helping people and again ask the opinion of all the republican senators that have worked with him...you will overwhelmingly get positive responses

but if you wanan focus is on one incident 40 years go ahead...doesnt erase all the years of good he has done

What good? Until a few years ago after his last marriage, he was seen in public constantly drunk running around on his first wife. Half the time he's drunk at his job. He can't even pronounce the name of his own parties candidates for president right, he's so damned tanked half the time.

shorebird

He's an elitist Kennedy who thinks the rules don't apply to him.

Yeah, for every article you have immortalizing him, theres one to tear him up.

It's too damned late, and I don't feel like looking for links to back up what I already know about the person.

seems to me that more than anything you're jealous of the fact he's drunk and deep into fresh poydadada while you're sober and suffering a colossal case of blue balls

NEWSFLASH!

All politicians are slimeballs.

Bush is a bigger slimeball than most.

Ted Kennedy spends his life fighting for the working man and this (supposed) working man claims to not be a part of the "Bush gang".

Who ever said Jerome was a great American? And for the record, alcohol wasn't involved in his crash, just stupidity.

Listen you ignorant skin fan. I am part of no "gang", Bush or otherwise. I think on my own and call them like I see them. 40 years and a life of standing up in front of the Senate boisterously putting on his show for the 'supposed working man' does nothing to change or diminish the heinous act he commited when he was responsible for the end of a human life and then sluffed it off like he could have cared less, accepting absolutely no responsibility for his actions what so ever.

Karmas a bitch, ain't it Teddy?

Lets not forget either, that he was all for taking down Saddam in '02', saying he was a tyrant and also that he was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction. When none were found, he flipped and called Bush a liar.

I could say as much about Bush. It seems he cares nothing for the average American. So little that he would authorize intrusions of our privacy, illegally and immorally, on the basis of the fight against terrorism. He's done absolutely nothing for the average citizen. He threw us money, economy stimulation, and that was supposed to fix gas prices and a housing market gone bad, and an invasion of illegal immagrants. Yeah, right. He did lift the ban on oil drilling, but only after all his oil buddies got even richer. He gets blasted for the war, but what would you have done? 9-11 was an act of war. It killed thousands of innocent people, but they were New Yorkers, so you norrow minded fanatics choose to forget. Our chickens have come home to roost, is that right??

You iceholes think that because I don't fall over myself for a drunk elitist republican that I must a radical right wing redneck that wants to start a militia group. Your fanatical narrowmindedness is a lot of what is wrong with this country. You chooses to jump behind a republican candidate because he's a great speaker, and you want change, any change. Never mind that no one really knows anyting about him, and he has almost no experience. But don't say anything bad about him because you'll be branded a Timothy McFay wanna be.

IMO, neither one of the canidates are going to make much difference in the way things are right now. No one worth anything wants the job.

Cerevant

I don't give a farg about Ted Kennedy, so back on topic.

I saw today that the latest Gallup poll had Obama leading 45% to 43%. That's statistically insignificant.

The national poll is just a guide to overall reaction to major events (media).  That being said, Obama is definitely suffering from a down trend right now.  Completely mind boggling given McCain's recent string of position changes and speaking gaffes.  Meanwhile, the Bush admin is following all the foreign policy plans that Obama was criticized for even suggesting.

The real meat is in the state polls:

In states with a margin > 5%, the score is:
Obama: 246
McCain: 181

There are 101 electoral votes on the table.  Obama needs to win 2, maybe 3 states of the 10 "undecided" and he wins.  He has a small lead in 5 of those states, and another 3 are dead even.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

for the record i never once labeled you by your political leanings...really i dont know where you stand...it just gets my goat when people hear the name kennedy and immediately whip out the ole chappaquiddick gun having no idea what makes up the entire man

it is very ignorant to define a persons entire life by one incident...if that was the standard by which we judged people there would be no such thing as parole or second chances...there would be no gang bangers who get out of jail and work the rest of their lives teaching kids the horrors of that life...no robert byrds who was once in the kkk and then passed legislation fighting hate groups...nobody is perfect and you should educate yourself on a persons entire body of work before you automaticaly trash a great man

There are plenty of people who committed "just one" murder and pay the rest of their life for it.  Not everyone deserves or gets a mulligan for the crime of murder, accidental or not.

Say, let's talk some more about the irrational hatred right wingnuts harbor for Ted Kennedy.
