Yes, every political slimeball deserves to die young of cancer.  They're much like skins fans in that way.

Quoteevery political slimeball deserves to die young of cancer

This slimeball wasn't just lying about "politics" - He was spewing propaganda about not ignoring the Constitutution, not ignoring the UN, about why we invaded other nations, etc.

That's the problem. Many douches would prefer to frame these sort of things of being "just politics" when these policies have real consequences on the country and the world.

Joseph Goebbels? Just another political slimeball of the second reich.

Here's my thinking, and it will have many people besides their selves in glee...

The economy is 9one of America's biggest issues of the day.  And, it's going to cure itself in a matter of months.  Whichever side wins will be able to claim success due to policy, but it just comes down to human action.  No matter which side wins, the economy is going to get better by June 09, and the incumbent (then President) will claim a victory.  The economy is self-healing, and whoever happens to be in office at the time gets the credit.

That is all.

That's what McCain & Graham think.  That's why they say that the economy is all in our heads.

Odds are that the economy will self heal, but the question is, what damage will be done in the process?  Yes, the mortgage industry will recover, and housing prices will return to sane levels.  The question is, how many people will be financially devastated in the process?

A good parallel is the environment - the planet will survive whatever we do to it, and will be here long after we are gone.  The question is how long before we are the problem that the environment needs to correct?
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

He served at Bush Cheney's beck and call.  Nice a guy as he might have been in person, he worked in satan's service and for that I say good riddance to him.

I'd say that more likely than not, your drunk ass is right about this. But what this economic downturn has exposed is an extremely serious problem with america's dependence on credit of all sorts. Basically the entire population is in debt. Whether it is due to a house mortgage, car payments, credit card debt, student loans or some combination of all of them. That's all funny money. It doesn't really exist until the people who owe it pay it back. If the economy stays zesty and more people default on their debts, that money simply doesn't exist because no one actually pays it to anyone. And that is a massive problem. Similarly, if the government allows for more bailouts, whether they be to corporations or individuals, that money just vanishes because it never existed in the first place. Bailouts are made even worse due to the fact that the government itself is in massive amounts of debt.

So yes, recent history says that this will likely blow over soon, but the underlying problems with the level of debt this country has needs to be addressed or the dynamite will eventually go boom on the whole thing.

...because we are paying back our loans with more loans, increasing inflation.  Inflation makes things more expensive, making it harder to pay for things.  So people borrow more to pay for things because the government borrowed money to bail the people out in the first place.  It is a pyramid scheme that is beginning to collapse.
