Actually they were just pandering to the lower middle class with those quotes. No where did I hear them say the plan is no longer for all families under 250K. They just stated the obvious...that under Obama's plan, families under 200K and 120K will get tax cuts. In a tax plan that calls for tax relief for everyone under 250K...I'd say that's pretty much just stating the obvious.

TAKING QUOTES OUT OF CONTEXT FTW.

PS-Cerevant's chart > your out of context quotes.

Cervant, what the farg am I making up?

Plain and simple - Biden said people making less than $150k get a tax break.  Look at the chart: they do.
Richardson said people making less than $120k get a tax break.  Look at the chart: they do.

Nothing to see here.  Move along.

Obama's unity means agreeing with him on everything.  He never said anything about compromise.

Yeah tell me about it, then all this bs will end

I think I've found the stupidest thing said in this thread. It wasn't an easy search.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Actually, I prefer Tom Marr over either of those two.

This couldn't be more wrong.  FISA?  Offshore drilling?

One of the things that pisses me off about Obama is that he seems too willing to compromise.  Probably will make him a more successful President when congress shifts back to Republican, though.

I'd like to nominate this one :

All I'm saying is that theywill lower the level, and this is the groundwork for it.

You're hilarious.  He softened his stance on drilling only because the political climate at that exact time was so over-the-top for it.  You think he's going to sign a bill into law to promote drilling now that the spiking oil prices are a distant memory?

I'm still baffled by FISA.  It's not as much of a compromise as it is idiocy.  Obama is not exactly all about individuals' rights, and that doesn't make me warm and fuzzy.  But, if I'd listen to most of you, he'll definitely protect rights better than Bush, so I should rest easy.

Still, it's funny that you find two issues, neither of which will become active legislation during Obama's Presidency, that Obama seems to lean right on... and you label as "compromise."  There is a big difference between having an opinion, politically expedient or not, that goes against your party line and working through actual differences in opinion to work toward passing legislation that is agreed upon by more than 51% of the Congress/country.

phillymic2000

Funny little thing, for Obama's election celebration/party tomorrow night you need to produce a valid drivers license along with your ticket to get in, but you do not need a driver license to vote out here in the great state of Illinois. :-D

Sorry, I'd call this a compromise.  Unlike some, I don't consider "compromise" a dirty word.  I just don't agree with Obama's decisions on these issues.
