HIT, HIT, HIT.

Although that's not really an endorsement for the President's office, is it?

I particularly like the derelict behind her sucking on a butt with his Shlitz can in hand.

Pretty much defines the Republican base, eh?
Anyone but Reid.

Sorry to ruin the fun, but the picture's been photoshopped:

It'll probably be a couple more days still before the real bikini pics come out.

Yea, that must've been photoshopped.

Damn, I guess she's Presidential material after all.

"Key evangelical leaders rallied to Sarah Palin's support Monday amid news that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, was having a child....."Before, they were excited about her, with the Down syndrome baby," conservative, anti-tax activist Grover Norquist said. "But now with this, they are over the moon. It reinforces the fact that this family lives its pro-life values." "

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin employed a lobbying firm to secure almost $27 million in federal earmarks for a town of 6,700 residents while she was its mayor, according to an analysis by an independent government watchdog.

There was $500,000 for a youth shelter, $1.9 million for a transportation hub, $900,000 for sewer repairs, and $15 million for a rail project -- all intended to benefit Palin's town, Wasilla, located about 45 miles north of Anchorage.

In introducing Palin as his running mate on Friday, Sen. John McCain cast her as a compatriot in his battle against wasteful federal spending. McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, hailed Palin as a politician "with an outstanding reputation for standing up to special interests and entrenched bureaucracies -- someone who has fought against corruption and the failed policies of the past, someone who's stopped government from wasting taxpayers' money."....

Seems to me the only thing that rings true with this woman is that she's a MILF.

McCain is a friendly and classy politician.

You ready to say the same for Obama?

Quote"Let me be as clear as possible," Obama said. "I think people's families are off-limits, and people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president."

He is to be applauded for this view, even if it is off-the-wall politicking.

That last part was sarcasm, for the sarcastic-impaired.  I do like when people do the right thing, no matter what their political leaning.

A few points:

1) Would you categorize the selection of Palin as "doing what's best for the country" or "doing whatever it takes to get elected"?

2) Commentators on both side have noted that McCain has done an excellent job of making this election a referendum on Obama, rather than one on the current administration.  This selection has completely shifted the focus, because...

3) She is fresh meat for the media.  We have just over 60 days to vet this no-name, and it is increasingly clear that the McCain campaign did not do due diligence on that front.  Every hack writer and talking head are digging to find that one piece of dirt that will make a name for themselves...and end Palin's career.

All of this takes the heat off Obama (he clearly had more coverage than McCain, but almost 70% of it was negative) and puts it on McCain.  I'll be interested to see how long it takes to have an effect on the polls.

Oh, and one last thought: while I understand why Obama is taking the "back off" stance with Palin's family (particularly because he said the same thing about his own family), there is a fine line:  The "story" was not that Palin's teenage daughter was pregnant, but that Palin might have lied to the press, the school district and many others to cover it up.  If that allegation is true, that puts her in the company of Edwards and Slick Willy.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

I'm sure that while Obama and his campaign are going to be "hands off," there will be factions of the DNC digging in that quagmire to get what they can out of it.
