honest question: who is more famous for doing the least amount of work?

1. paris hilton
2. kim kardashian
3. bristol palin

Paris Hilton.

When is the Bristol Palin sex tape coming out? To get in with that crew she needs to take it on camera.

So, how long until the seized computer crap turns up files showing proof that Pakistani officials knew he was there? Days? Weeks?

Exactly.

By the end of the week.

If such proof exists in the data they pulled, they must already know it.  If they didn't know it beforehand, of course.  No way the U.S. is going to show their cards on that to the world.

the us could have video of kardazi and obl having tea and would do nothing about it....they two countries need each other too much for anything real to happen btwn them...much less a nightmare of any kind

I think you're misinterpreting my definition of nightmare. The scenario you laid out falls squarely within my idea of a foreign policy situation that will be difficult, if not impossible, to navigate successfully. At some point Pakistan will go from nominal friend to overt foe and when that happens we'll have our first nuclear armed enemy since the cold war. Only this time instead of a country run by godless secular socialists, Pakistan is a haven for religious extremists that are already paranoid about everything.

i know what you are saying and i disagree that they will become a foe....they get too much money from us and we need them to fight wars over there....plus the last thing they want is for us to buddy up with india against them

i also dont think there will be any kind of smoking gun as far as high level pakistani govt officials having knowledge of obl being in that compound...obl was at war with the pakistani govt as much as he was with our govt

why would any high level official in the pakistano govt hide him...there was to much to be gained from turning him in to the us and absolutely everything to lose by being caught harboring him

i think the most that comes out of this is that perhaps some local military officials had knowledge and if that happens then perhaps those people get punished....but even that is questionable as i could also see it all being swept unde the rug in the name of diplomacy

I think that what you're failing to realize is that Pakistani military officials have just as much say in the goings on of the country as the official government does and in a lot of ways operate independent of that government. An issue with their military is just as big a concern as an issue with their high level government officials.

Ultimately I hope you're right and this is all much ado about nothing, but there is potential for big problems here.

From the crazy comments I've been reading on articles lately, It was to keep violence down inside Pakistan while Al Queda does Pakistan's fighting in Kashmir.

Newt's running. I look forward to seeing the field day the media and Obama's team have with his personal life.
