He made more plays yesterday than the Eagles OLBs in the past two years.

Sad.

I want Jones outta there. With Mike Lewis playing well as a LB in spot play I would use a Barber/Lewis platoon at SAM. Barber is playing too good to only be in nickle. But his knees need rest. So they can up his snaps a bit by platooning him there. That way he isn't taking 60+ snaps a week.

It's time to do whatever it takes. Whether "it" is unconventional or not.

* Barber/Lewis SAM platoon
* Westbrook and/or Sheppard on KR/PR's
* Less Darwin Walker, more Bunkley.
* Activate LaJuan Ramsey for the love of god
* They should be dressing all 5 DTs. Want to sacrifice a gameday roster spot? Sit Reno.
* Activate Moats and get him involved.

Don't just sit Reno; cut him (from the squad not with a knife). That botched punt return/fielding should cost him his job

The worst part is that he then did it AGAIN on a bouncing ball.  He got away with it the 2nd time, but... Jeezus.

I wish I could have heard what Reid said to him after that fumble... maybe something like this:
"Reno, I can't hold water for you much longer if you keep doing shtein like that."

PhillyPhreak54

And then he was gun shy the rest of the game. He let one bounce that he should have fielded and it rolled an extra 10+ yards.

They have to fix that problem. LIke I said - Westbrook or Lito. Please.

And even if they want to keep him in there on PR's, I'd grudgingly be OK with that. But only if the KR portion of the game is fixed. They are continuously having to drive a long field. Its not all Mahe because he sometimes will get a lane. But that's like once every three weeks.

Harbaugh's squads are not getting it done. The KOR blocking is pathetic.

Gaither's INT and the one pass he swatted were 2 more plays in the passing game than the entire Eagles OLB corps had all year until then.  The kid's got some great instincts.

I agree.  If they were to leave him there at WIL and let him learn the position from here on out, I'd be fine with that.  He's one of the few guys on the D right now playing with any fire.

Problem is... if we leave him at WIL, then once again... we're looking for a successor for Trotter who's barely getting it done himself at this point.

well, Gaither played outside in college, so i think he'd just be getting adjusted to playing in the NFL, not learning a new position.  him backing up Trotter at MLB was the new position for him.

I know... but it's just that the Eagles have been feeding him MLB shtein in JJ's defense his whole time here... and now all of a sudden, it's OLB in JJ's system... which is supposed to be so hard to learn anyway.

Truth be told, I thought it was kind of a dumb idea to put him at MLB to begin with since he's only like 230-235... so I'd love for him to stay on the outside and replace Trotter with a natural MLB.

If Gaither is better-suited to play WIL, let him play it!  Another MLB can be signed/drafted.

i agree, but goes into their bullshtein philosophy of small but fast...

they are desperately trying to find the next Zach Thomas, and have failed miserably so far

Omar has played well as of late.  His pick on Campbell was awesome.

Not that I ever defend Reno ::) but after watching the kickoff return team yesterday this is clearly much more than a Reno problem.  On most occasions Reno would get past the wedge which is fine but  five or six of the blockers would just be blocking air.  All standing upright looking totally lost as Reno runs into four defenders.  I would be afraid for Westy's or Lito's life back there.

if watching someone like devin hester doesnt make the eagles realize what idiots they are for having reno back then then nothing will...along with sinorice moss i was advocating getting hester in the draft....playmakers playmakers playmakers

the eagles need more of them....the gaither move is a perfect example

more gaithers and less mccoys gocongs pattersons jones mcdougles considines ect would be a good thing

One of those things is not like the other... meaning I doubt they ever thought McDougle was a high-character guy.  They got a top prospect from a team that usually makes some good pros, despite their lack of character overall.  Yes, he's a bust, but he wasn't a "character" pickup like all the other guys you mentioned.
