Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

The FCC is going forward trying to get CSN Philly on subscribers outside of cable.  Cable operators are trying to say that the NFL Ticket on DTV is an example of a company withholding programming.  Just pathetic when DTV outbid comcast and the other operators by a billion dollars just to get the ticket.

All i've heard is that if Comcast really wants NBC Universal, they gotta give up CSN philly.  I'm trying to get docket information on this shtein for the FCC, its supposed to be reviewed Jan 20th, but i wouldnt expect much other than them trying to push this into a late session to bore people to death.  I've written multiple times to the FCC about the loophole being horseshtein, and have never heard shtein back.  I'm just hoping this is the end for Comcast trying to screw sports fans

i guess this wouldn't be a big deal if there were no csn channels available on the dtv.  but there are.  the difference between directv and their exclusive contract with the nfl is that they simply paid more money for it than what other cable providers were willing to pay.  so they get the exclusive deal.  if time warner or comcast or verizon stepped up and matched directv's offer, then they'd all be selling sunday ticket packages.  but they didn't.  so they lose out on it.

csn philly on the other hand is just being jew about the whole thing.

Wait...you can get out of market CSN affiliates on DirectTV?

Seabiscuit36

yeah, everyone except CSN Northwest which they bought two years ago.  CSN Philly has an antiquated loophole that was based around how PRISM transmitted via microwaves.  They used this loophole to say that since satellites dont use the same technology it was too expensive to share the signals.  Now that CSN uses satellites and fiberoptics, they have no excuse other than Specter is owned by Comcast and he's done everything in his power over the past 10 years to be their puppet, and they funnel money to his campaigns.

No shtein. Wow, the second CSN Philly comes on DTV, I switching.

Sgt PSN

don't know if you have to pay extra to receive csn channels on cable (although i believe csn philly is free to cable subscribers in the philly area, correct?) but the csn channels on directv are part of one of their "sports packages" that you have to pay an extra $13/month.

CSN Philly is part of the basic cable package in town. This DirectTV/CSN thing is news to me though, and considering I'm stuck in Jersey with zestyass Cablevision, once DTV gets CSN Philly, I'm gonna be all over that shtein.

if it happens, a lot of people will be switching to directv.  if anyone here ever makes the switch, let me know and i'll give my account info for referral credit.  i think that with a referral we both get $50 credit on our next bill....or something like that.
