Im really excited about the future of this team they've given up

Forsberg-might be back after the season
Calder-steaming poo
2nd Rounder-crapshoot
Zhitnik-35 year old Dman making 3.5million

For

Parent-Young faster Hatcher
Coburn-Similar to a Rathe shutdown type of Dman, but faster
Upshall-Producing right away, former 6th overall pick who nashville never played higher than 3rd line
1st rounder from Nashville- ;)
Kukkonen-Grew up in Finland with Joni/previously made Joni look ridiculously good
3rd rounder from Chicago-Crapshoot, but the flyers have gotten good players from this pick over the past few years
Biron-True #1 goalie

Marty Biron can't even crack your list

This seems to be a little too rosy for my taste. I like these trades (a lot, assuming that they can sign Biron) but this makes it sound like they just signed a pack of all stars and future team captains, which is a little far fetched.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ice grillin you

way far fetched....thats what i was saying earlier...

if just one of these kids pans out they did good for themselves...teams rarely dump great young defensive prospects...yet the flyers got three in one week?...
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Even mentioning an NHL 3rd rounder as a significant acquisition makes the whole post laughable.

The flyers have made pretty good picks over the past few years with 3rds.  In hockey its all about scouting and Luck.

this all reminds me of when clarke was murdered for trading a 1 2 and 3 plus maxime ouellet for oates...it was sign of the end of the world...as if clarke didnt know what he was doing after 20 plus years of being a great gm

ouellet cant even make it as a back up in the nhl

the first rounder was worth so much that the caps traded it and the guy picked is done

the other two picks turned into two bums one of which cant even get out of the ECHL

picks and prospects in the nhl that are traded way more often than not turn into complete garbage

True
Maxime Ouellet, 2002 1st Rounder (transferred to Dallas - Martin Vagner), 2002 2nd Rounder (Maxime Daigneault), 2002 3rd Rounder (Derek Krestanovich)

Looking back at that draft, there was not alot of talent http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl2002e.html

im not saying they wont strike gold with a pick...im also not saying all the prospects they got are gonna be bums...im just saying the odds are against the flyers

that said i wouldnt take back one single one of these moves and i think clolmgren has done a really good job turning the team over thus far...to get rid of stuff you dont need for the upside of some of these kids is well worth the chance and you cant ask for anything more

That said, the flyers recently Drafted in the 3rd round:
Ruzicka
Potulny
Picard
Jonathan Matsumoto- he's playing very well in NCAA
Patrick Sharp

now there have been others who've done nothing, but having a pick is better than not having one

Reason I'm happy with these trades besides the obvious is that we're done emulating the NHL version of the taterskins. They were getting crap from old overpriced veterans.
