From a historical standpoint,   TO is the only WR under Reid who has had atleast 900 yards receiving in a season.  Before that it was Irving Fryar in 1997.   Consider some things:

- that Reggie Brown is supposed to be the future of the Eagles WR's.
- that Reid has vowed to run the ball more this year.
- that Reids offense is based on spreading the ball around
- that Westbrook and LJ Smith are going to catch a lot of passes.

Considering factors like the aforementioned it would seem unlikely that Stallworth would hit 900 yards receiving.  Not impossible, but not probable IMO.

Considering these points has nothing to do with what Stallworth can accomplish because:

1) it doesnt matter whos declared what for the WR's, its about who gets open the most and who Donovan sees open to get the ball thrown to him. Stallworth will have that edge over Brown and you will see his role change big time

2) Reid vowed? lets see how the defense shakes out and what the score is come 2nd half before hes vows to anything. One injury to that backfield and McNabb has ice on his shoulder at the end of the game from throwing so much

3) The Saints offense was based on spreading it around too. The fact that McNabb is more efficient than Brooks only put Stallworth at MORE of an advantage of getting more yards because that means more completions

4) We had TO and Pinkston flying around last year and LJ wasnt a hero last year. A good year yes, but having West and LJ catching balls doesnt mean less yards for Stallworth. Every teams has a TE that catches balls and LJ is hardly the Gates/Gonzalez type to ge that many passes thrown to him

Anybody predicting this guy not getting to the 900 yd mark and catching 7-8 TDs is basically just trying to prove yourself wrong, so you can be filled with joy when he does. If thats what floats your boat...thats cool. It hardly means your being a homer...its very attainable

Saying it's impossible that he gets numbers like that is idiotic.  Saying it's guaranteed is also idiotic.

I always thought Murp would look like Brian Dawkins.

i'll take that bet Murp

I'll take Dio. I've seen his picture & I bet he has crazy, serial killer strength like Hannibal Lecter.

i've since been corrected BM and will not take Dio myself.

back on topic, i can't wait to see Donte' on the field and i fully expect him to get somewhere between 0-1,400 yards and 2-10 TD's.

lol.  ok. First off I never said he wouldnt get it.  I hope Stallworth has 1500 yards.   I am simply sharing specific reasons as to why I think it isnt probable for him to hit that mark.  My reasons are clear and logical.   You are getting all bent out of shape by that, why?      And for your commments about LJ Smith... the guy led the team in receptions last season and was 6th in the NFL for passes thrown his way at the TE position.  Do the research and then do the arguing.

0 yards and 2 TD's would be quite an achievement.

MURP

didnt Bettis have something like that at one point?

Yeah, it was during the first 4 or 5 weeks of the 2004 season.  Duce had been carrying the load and racking up a bunch of yards and Bettis was getting the goal line carries.  I think one game he got tackled for a loss and ended up with 3 carries, 0 yds and 2 tds.

One game he had like 5 carries, 3 yards and 3 TDs.

So to sum up this thread:

It was a good trade for the Eagles and you're all idiots for having 19 pages of the same argument over and over over.  Now kill yourselves, all of yous.

Skeet skeet bitches!

Hey MURP, not getting bent out of shape one bit ,and I apologize by pinpointing your facts there to make an example out of you. BUT, seeing your bullet points and everybody elses bashing of Rome99 to make a very attainable stat line was mind boggling

Its not hard to see trends and spikes in a players stat line each year. Hes either getting better or takes a turn for the worse. Stallworth is getting better each year and his numbers are showing it. A new team, system and QB-- yes can askew his numbers, but a more efficient, well coached system and QB can do wonders .

If he was going to the Bears, Ravens or Browns I would say everyone is right on, but McNabb is a passer and this guy can easily get those numbers because of his familiarity with the WCO.
