Maybe he didn't see Mariah drop the shtein. Maybe he only had time to grab one or the other and keeping Mariah out of jail is more important to him than Luke clearing his name. Maybe you shouldn't overanalyze a half-decent waste of time on Netflix; we have probably given more thought to it than the dumbfargs who wrote it.

yeah I really don't know the plot as I never seen the movie so this is all fresh to me and I am all in. I mean cmon, sci-fi mixed in with the wild west ?

I didn't even know it was a movie (so I googled it). The general plot was easy to figure out...took like 10 min, but I couldn't begin to tell you where all the different character sprouts are going. But yeah, Sci fi + Western has me pretty stoked.
