there were a couple scenes in abbott elementary about a teacher who just didn't "get" Gritty and everyone else was kinda mad at him. 

I understand why Philly people would love the show but am very surprised it's so widely acclaimed nationally.  First off most people hate Philadelphians, and secondly it seems like a lot of inside jokes that most people wouldn't get and would not find funny.

they did this bit about jim gardner in the 2nd episode that i saw before it aired...i thought it was made specifically for 6abc as a promo but no it was in the show. like a 2 minute joke about how hot jim gardner is when 99% of the country doesnt know hes a real life legend

the first season was amazing, then everyone in the cast got super famous. they came right back and did a 2nd season that was just as good if not better. then they waited 4 years between s2 and s3 because of how busy the cast was and covid. s3 half the episodes were anthology and didnt have the main characters. the other half were in europe. it wasnt very good. s4 is airing now. its back to the basics but its been so long since they did the show, they kinda lost their fastball a bit.

I tried to watch Star Wars: Andor. I finished the first episode, but don't know or care what happened in it. The sound mix sucks to the point where I had to turn on subtitles, and I had my fill of shows about smug douchebags in the 90s.

Sometimes I do like things, though. I'm hopeful about The Peripheral, which is based on my favorite book of the last decade. The teasers look like they got it right.

First two episodes of the Peripheral were very good. Definitely changed a lot from the book, but it's probably for the best for a tv show.

I'd call them even but as far as rewatches go Sopranos takes it

If you're into dark comedies check out White Lotus on hbo. Just finished season 1.

im now on a wire youtube binge and i might have to amend my take...the shows go back and forth in my mind but yea the sopranos is more rewatchable. plus the wire cant compete with a performance like gandolfini or how outright hysterical the sopranos was.

and son i was watching the white lotus the second it came out. rich people problems during vacation is in the todd wheelhouse. season 2 is great!

Just started season 2 last night...on par with season 1 so far. Only disappointment is Alexandra Daddario and her massive cans aren't in season 2. The other girls aren't bad but not up to her standard of ridiculousness. I'd watch 20 seasons of this show if they'd make them.
