Reid likes Baskett and Avant, so if Lewis stays he's going to be the #5 WR. Why waste it on him if he's hardly going to play? Give the #5 and #6 spots to Bloom and Johnson, if they prove they're worthy in the return game.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Trying to get IGY to be your friend, then?  Good luck.

He's also the longest tenured WR on the roster... meaning he knows this offense the best...

Wasn't Reno the most tenured RB on the roster? Maybe they should hire him as a coach!

somthing is seriously wrong with your offense when you have to keep inferior players in it because its to difficult for new guys to learn

Let's not go ahead and pronounce Bloom or Johnson to be superior to anybody just yet.

theres easily room for both of them...the question is a) are both worthy of being kept

Quote from: ice grillin you on May 23, 2007, 01:45:36 PMbut i fully admit  thats probably not going to happen...all i was saying is there is def room for johnson and bloom if they play themselves onto the team

if bethel shows that he cant play wr at all in the offense and/or he isnt the KR they are hoping for then hes gone

my god, Im stunned your even considering Bethel F-in Johnson as a wr here.  He was brought in here for 1 reason only..as a return man

If he was even remotely close to a worthy receiver on any NFL team, it would of certainly been on New England (and Minnesota). They have been starving for wr's the past years, have the best QB in the game, and hes done nada but catch 13 passes the past 2 years.

yeah, lets throw ol Bethel in at wr and see whats happen...makes sense. Keep G-Lew..hes earned it

ice grillin you

have you read a single post in this entire thread

#1 who said "throw him in there"...he has to make the team...youve heard of training camp?

#2 we are talking about a #4 or 5 wr...if youre gonna have a scrub there you might as well have a scrub that can also double duty and improve the kick game

#3 what exactly has greg lewis ever done to earn an automatic spot on this roster

Bethel is a looooongshot. Not only because of Bloom but because of the leg injury.

I hated Greg Lewis as a starter. But his role as the 4th/5th guy is ideal.

id much rather have a downgrade at our #4 or #5 WR spot if it meant improving our return game.

But that fifth receiver is important with as many five wide sets Reid likes to call. You know, those ones where LJ and Westbrook are on the field anyway.
