I seriously think the Eagles are about 2:1 favorites to win in Houston on opening Sunday.

That means Houston has a 33.3% chance to win.

I don't care how weak their opponent... week 1 is ALWAYS a trap game for these Eagles.

every week 1 game is a "trap" game for any team cause you dont know what the hell the other is going to do regardless

Get Adrian Peterson!  :D

stop saying trap game

everyone

No.  Shut up with your ridiculously overblown opinions.  You admittedly don't even really watch much of the NFL outside the Eagles, right?  Right.  And if people want to use buzz-phrases like "trap game" and "point of attack", we're going to farging use them.  Hell, we put up with your butter joints and johnsons and penis butters and whatnot, so the way I see it, you have no right to even come close to telling people what terminology to use.

if you people want to continue to clown yourselves by using geeked out terms that mean nothing go right ahead....you do realize there is no such thing as a trap game right?....its a terms that nerds invented to validate their football knowledge

correct...but then neither do you....at most each week you could watch a game or two more than me...thats if i watch no games other than eagles...if i happen to watch the sunday nite monday nite or an additonal sunday game then we are essentially even...but again what does this have to do with anything...do they teach terms like trap game reach and point of attack on nfl broadcasts

all i'm saying is that it's a reach to assume that week 1 is a trap game.  the eagles will be fine because of cash over cap and their strong point of attack.  i can't wait to cook a golden goose for that game.  yummy.

No, but if you hear them enough on games and watching analysis of games on ESPN/NFLN, you should know the correct context in which to use them... and people use them in correct context most of the time.

ie:

Week 1 at Houston this year is a trap game for the Eagles, because the perceived weakness of the Houston team could lead the players to underestimate what they're up against.

The Eagles got dominated at the point of attack in 2005 on both sides of the ball.

Both are true, and both make a ton more sense than most of the garbage English you speak.  So shut it.

it should only be used in college sports. These are professional athletes that really do take one game at a time because its almost the same level playing field and you cant take any team for granted. Trap games are for bookies to sway the public

normal human being/fan: "if the eagles lose to the texans its because they suck not because they were trapped"

geeked out super scout fan: "trap game?...hmmmmm maybe...in reality tho i cant see a 6-10 team getting trapped"
