That final 6 looks brutal now. But I will say the same thing now as I say every year at this time - we don't know who is going to do what and who will be zesty by the time those games roll around. So for those of you trippin out, grab your sack and make sure you have testicles and quit the cryin.

Why did they change the Christmas game? Anyone know? I heard Eskin on with Gargano when I went out to run errands today but only caught the end of it.

I like the fact that New Orleans isn't too early. I also like that we have the bye in week 9.

The BIGSTUD

Ugh, Eckel is a joke.

He has Eagles going 8-8 and being swept by Dallas, and Dallas going 12-4.  :-D

I think he's mad at the Eagles got making him look stupid on his Bentley article.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

He has to sell papers and keep his name out there some how.

A few things about the schedule: As I type this, it's 6.05am over here in England. A quick check of this morning's Inquirer shows that the Dallas Xmas game is on NBC--NOT on ESPN. However, when I went to sportsline.com to confirm that, it has--TBD next to it. So that could be a Christmas special on NBC.

The three straight division road games are balanced by the fact that 3 out of their opening 5, including games against the Cowboys and Giants, are at home, and that prior to that three game stretch they have 3 straight and 4 out of 5 at home--

just ballparking local tv sked for afternoon games up till sunday night games are set

week 1- eagles/texans (cbs), falcons/panthers or bucs/ravens (fox), cowboys/jags (415fox)
week 2- eagles/giants (fox), jets/pats or chiefs/broncos (415cbs)
week 3- taterskins/texans (fox), bengals/steelers (cbs), eagles/niners (415fox)
week 4- colts/jets or ravens/chargers (cbs), cowboys/titans (fox), jags/skins (415cbs)
week 5- dolphins/pats (cbs), skins/giants (fox), eagles/cowboys (415fox)
week 6- eagles/saints (fox), titans/skins (cbs), chiefs/steelers (415cbs)
week 7- eagles/bucs (fox), pats/bills or falcons/steelers (cbs), skins/colts (415cbs)
week 8- jags/eagles (cbs), rams/chargers (400fox), colts/broncos (415cbs)
week 9- cowboys/skins (fox), bengals/ravens (cbs), broncos/steelers (415cbs)
week 16- saints/giants or skins/rams (fox), ravens/steelers (cbs), bengals/broncos (415cbs)

we will get 3 games locally every week expect week 2. if the schedule holds with the eagles at 1, there are a few weeks where we are stuck with ninerd/lions esque matchups in the 400 game (opposite the 415 big game). but as madden says, football....is football.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I always thought it was norse, not norris. It's not the roundhouse kick to the face division ...

I have hope for the first half of the schedule, but god damn December makes me want to say I got something in my eye.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Whatever it is, do you usually call it that when you're hanging out with all your buddies watching football?

Personally, I think they should rename it the NFC Favre division of Favre.

and whys that?

ice grillin you

three straight at home with the bye week mixed in the middle of those games easily cancels out the three road games in december

for over a month (oct 23 to nov 24) the eagles will sleep in their own beds...it doesnt get any better than that

Well, because Brett Favre likes to Favre his Favrer out the Favruh Favre, and if Favre favres the Favring piece of Farve, then the whole Favre's going to favre up in a big Farve of Farve.  Farve.

The problem is that this schedule doesn't play well into the Eagles' usual modus operandi under Reid.  They usually start off weak for the first 4 games or so, then play better for the middle 8, then leave some lingering questions (either due to sitting players or just because) the last 4.

I still say no more than 11 wins from this schedule, and that would be amazing.

First 4
2005: 3-1
2004: 4-0
2003: 2-2
2002: 3-1
2001: 2-2
2000: 2-2

Middle 8
2005: 2-8
2004: 7-1
2003: 7-1
2002: 6-2
2001: 6-2
2000: 6-2

Final 4
2005: 1-3
2004: 2-2
2003: 3-1
2002: 3-1
2001: 3-1
2000: 3-1

you analysis is mostly based on perception, not the reality of the record, minus the 2005 season. the record doesnt indicate the lingering questions at the end. most of the time, any lingering questions were surrounding injury...not the overall quality of play. McNabb in 2002, Westbrook in 2003, and Owens in 2004.

besides, everyone loves to moan about the hard schedule and never look to see where the eagles fall on the opponents sched.

eagles face the giants week 2. giants play the colts at home the week 1, and then go on the road to seattle in week 3. the eagles are a trap game for the giants there.

eagles play the packers in week 4. it's the 2nd roadie in a row for the packers.

eagles play the cowboys in week 5. again, it's the 2nd road game in a row for the cowboys

week 6 at the saints. saints are 3-4 before their bye in the last 7 years, one of their losses was to the birds. the saints, since 2002, are 8-12 in games immediately following division games (which week 6 is)

week 8 vs the jags. it's before the bye for the birds, that is always a dangerous spot of the birds. but this is sandwiched between 3 division games for the jags

week 10 vs the skins. right after the bye which is historically good for the eagles, and is right in the middle of a tough sched for the skins.
wk 9:vs Dallas
wk10:@philly
wk11: @tampa
wk12:vs Carolina

same thing with vs the giants in week 15
wk13: vs dallas
wk14: @ carolina
wk 15: vs philly
