The fans' reaction to Lurie bothers Banner, who also would not rank among the region's most popular people even though he has helped produce a consistent winner.

To paraphrase Banner's response, he doesn't like the fact that many fans don't like Lurie.  He thinks that more should, because:
- Lurie kept the team in the city, in spite of a crappy stadium deal
- L&B have put the pieces in place for this team to have the most successful run in the history of the franchise...or at least since 1960.

How is this a shot at the fans?  Some fans rip Lurie, and Joe doesn't understand why.  Look at it from his point of view - which teams owners would you rather have?  Oakland? Detroit? Arizona? Washington? Green Bay? Cleveland? Buffalo?  Are you pining for the good 'ole Braman days?

As owners go, the Eagles are pretty lucky.  Lurie has learned to stay out of the way, and Banner just does his job.  If the Eagles ownership is so weak and incmopetent, where is the response from outside the city?  The national media have no problem trashing the ownership Arizona or Detroit, and even Needle Mr. Moneybags in Washington. 

There is one owner in the NFL that meets VIGY's critera - putting a consistent winner on the field, makes the moves necessary to improve the team every year, and has won the super bowl.  That's Bob Kraft.  Every other Super Bowl participant has basically been a fluke/one hit wonder, reflected by the Super Bowl hangover trend of recent years.  I know VIGY would seem to much rather have Danny boy as an owner, but shockingly even the taterskins don't measure up.

Ok, Lurie & Banner suck.  Who are you going to replace them with?

but what reaction to Lurie is he talking about?  there is not much of one at all.  when fans get mad at the team it is 75% at Reid, 20% at Donovan, and 5% at Banner.  Lurie rarely gets mentioned, unless it's a discussion of best mustaches ever, then he's all over that johnson.

for me, it's basically a case of Banner piping up when he shouldn't saying, "hey, you should be more thankful than you are."  which is something the makes me pretty irritated, no matter who says it.

for real....seriously what in hell are you talking about....the fans like lurie quite a bit...lurie showed to be a little full of himself and delusional with the gold standard comment but what millionaire isnt...other than that i rarely ever hear much venom go towards lurie...hes easily the most liked eagle owner of the last 40 years

lurie bought the team for 190 million and now mostly because of the stadium deal and the rabid fan support the team is worth a billion...again....a BILLION....horrible deal there...he owns the stadium...the concessions....the aprking....EVERYTHING....and he got a a nice amount of public funds towards the project...much more than some other owners got for their stadiums...so what are you saying?

bottom line is banner is a bitter hateful nerd who is trying to get back at the world and does thru thru eagle fans...he sees a small amount of criticism towards the front office and has flashbacks of himself hanging on a gym locker by his underwear
