Wouldn't it be funny if the Phillies somehow managed to win the Wild Card and the Yankees end up missing the playoffs despite winning about 15 more games than the Phils?

I know I'd laugh and stuff.

MDS

They cannot possibly be in a playoff race with a pitching staff that includes Scott Mathieson and Jon Lieber.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Don't forget Rick White.

He's super.

Are you seriously insinuating that it means anything whatsoever?

1.  For every guy that ends up excelling off "lists" of "top" prospects, there are at least 3 or 4 that don't.
2.  For every guy that ends up excelling off "lists" of "top" prospects, there are at least 1 or 2 guys that were never on one of those lists that have nice to amazing major league careers.
3.  Being on a prospect list means absolutely nothing about him helping the team get to the playoffs THIS year.

Stop the playoff talk, folks.  Not. Happening.

P.S.
QuoteUtley has consistently changed the subject when his hitting streak has come up. When he was asked about the play, he responded with praise for Brett Myers' start, the Phillies' offense and the play of David Dellucci, who was 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI.

We need more Utleys.  And I wouldn't mind Dellucci sticking around past this year.

ice grillin you

Madson's ERA is over 6 now, right?  Yeah, he's super too.

In other news, I don't know if anyone mentioned that Rheal blew the game in his first appearance for the Reds.

ice grillin you

yes its over six....i believe he fell out of the spot but at one time he had the highest era of any starting pitcher in the national league

Thanks for newsflash FF I did not realize that prospects are completely unproven.

that is incredibly accurate

Do you have any newsletters I can subscribe to that contains your vast knowledge of the minors I would really find it helpful.  Thanks.

I was farging with MDS I know him from two other sites.  The Phillies will have to make it to .500 before I even look at the WC standings.

Gio Gonzalez outlasted one of the guys we didnt get for Abreu, Phillip Hughes last night.

Hughes went five innings of shut out ball, Gio went six.
