THEY WON!  :o

4-0 shutout.  Madson dominates, goes 8.2, but needs Gordon to finish off Tejada

bandaid on a shotgun wound

Anyone read Conlins article today? What a pathetic organization.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I don't need to read any more articles to know that.

This Bernero guy did OK with batting practice.  So when does the game start tonight?

What a way to start his Phillies career.  36.00 ERA.  He'll fit right in.

Too bad this game wasn't on the satellite.

Ha! This team is a laughing stock! Blow it up!
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.""  R.I.P George.

I'm not surprised they lost. Keep on losing, iceholes. July 31 is gettin closer.

I feel bad for Manuel. Guy has no shot and will probably be the scapegoat of this mess.

i heard on jody mac's show from one of the philths beat writers that they don't ever have any kind of infield practice at the major league level outside of spring traingin.

you'd think with the all the lead gloves in the infield, the phils would maybe think of holding a practice once in a while

wow...i actually agree with you.

manuel isnt the greatest manager by any stretch of the imagination...but he is also far from the reason they are where they are.

this is on grand master gillick's shoulders.

but then again, this is basically the same team we've seen for the past 12+ years and should really surprise no one.

Gillick gets a mulligan this year......sort of.  He inherited a huge mess of a team.  I'd like to see what he does by the trading deadline just to see if there's any sign of hope in the near future.  This coming offseason is when I really expect to see him make a true impact.

The REBUILDING Marlins are now in 2nd place  :-D

sorry, don't buy that. the team wasnt that much of a "mess" the farm teams? yes. but the major league team? no, it was a above average group that really everyone said they just wanted a few additions to make a run for a team that was 1 game from the postseason. gillick was said (by himself as well) that he was the one who could do that.

pitching was a need. and where did that wind up? Ryan Franklin?
catching was a need. and we got sal fatsano ::)
3B was a need...and david bell is still there almost every day.

gordon for wagner has been an even swap.
rowand for michaels/lofton has also been an even swap (actually the offense is down from the CF spot...but we're not allowed to talk about that because rowand likes running into walls, and thats cool philly AD-EE-TOOD.)

arthor rhodes? please. Alex Gonzalez? lol.

delucci is turning into an ok player...but was terrible for about 2 months because he was pissy about being traded the day before the season started.

padilla was traded away because the Hoydas in the locker room didnt like him (meanwhile he would be the #1 guy right now) and there was NOTHING in return.

gillick has so far made this team worse. take away gordon and rowand, and every aquisition has been a total bust.

it's the quickest to 43 losses since 2002
77th game 2006
86th game 2005
91st game 2004
98th game 2003
78th game 2002

are you one of those guys who hates players that the fans love because they play hard?

talk about Rowand's average offense all you want, that was known going in.  but to call Lofton's defense and Rowand's defense the same is just wrong.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.
