i know he never played for them but was david akers ever affiliated with the cowboys in anyway...maybe invited to camp or played in preseason

He was with the Panthers in camp. He credits John Kasay with being one of his good friends and best mentors.

I think he's only spent time with the Panthers and skins before joining the Eagles.
