 MESHAWN'S PRICE GOES UP

Last week, receiver Keyshawn Johnson said he wouldn't play for only $2.5 million per year.
Now, his floor apparently is $3 million.

According to the New York Daily News, the Giants have offered Johnson a deal averaging $3 million annually.  But Johnson has not accepted, opting instead (apparently) to shop the offer elsewhere.

The Panthers, Pats, Eagles, and Seahawks reportedly are interested in Johnson, who'll now find out whether that interest translates into more than $3 million a year.

You might be able to talk me up to 1.46, but I still think that personal feelings toward Keyshawn are clouding all of our thoughts on the matter.  Moulds is also a PITA and also on the downside of his career too.

in his 8 years as a starter, moulds has averaged 78 catches, 1097 yds, and 5.8 td's per season.

Moulds has always been a FAR better receiver than Keyshawn. How could you possibly argue with that?

They came into the league the same year.  Keyshawn is a year older, but they both have 11 years in the NFL.  Both are big-bodied possession receivers and rarely stretch the field anymore.

Moulds career YPC is 13.5.  Keyshawn's is **way lower** at 13.1.
Moulds has 9,096 career receiving yards.  Keyshawn has 9,756.
Moulds has 48 career TD's.  Keyshawn has 60.

And if you want to use the "but Keyshawn's fallen off more recently" argument??

Keyshawn has a higher YPC, more catches of 20+ yards, slightly more first downs, and 5 more TD's over the last 3 seasons, despite only playing 10 games in 2003.


I'd still take Moulds if I had to choose between the two because the Eagles are jilted right now from TO and don't need another complete headcase at the WR position... but Moulds could turn out to be just as disruptive behind the scenes.  I'm just saying that thinking Moulds is gawd and Keyshawn is the devil is a little too polarized from the truth.
