Let me preface by saying, I don't know where Gary Cobb on... *sigh*.... yes, WIP heard this, but he said from what he understands David Givens will be an Eagle.

Now I don't know if he's reading an internet rumor or heard it from sources, but that's what he said.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I saw that but I don't know if that's where he heard it. He used the words "I was told" if I remember correctly.

Just now when they came back from the break he said exactly "Yeah, it's going to be Givens." So it sounds like he's very sure of himself. Like Diomedes said, we'll see.

Bentley
Givens
Garthia
Barber
(RB hopefully Anderson)

That would be a helluva FA haul. I'd love it.

i still don't want Barber, but i guess anybody is better than the Dullet and Bowtie man

I agree with the first part.  I think the Eagles are trying to pull another Trotter here but Barber was never at that level and it just makes me very uncomfortable to have him as a starter.

I'm not big on bringing him back either. But in discussing it with my boy at work last night we both came to that same conclusion -- he's better than Bullet and Simoneau at WIL.

But I still want a LB drafted somewhere. Gerris Wilkerson in the 3rd would be nice. He has the size to play SAM.

The Eagles need to draft a WIL who doesn't suck, not sign another speedy or oft injured LB.

LBIggle

if they sign another backup LB.. then who will the starter be?

i'd rather they sign moulds, and wait on another long term compliment to brown.  i wouldn't cry about it if they signed givens though.

The thing I also like about Givens is that he is a young guy. This'll be his fifth year, and I think he is 25 or 26. He could be around awhile. The other thing that comes to mind is, what if Pinky isn't 100%? Most doubt he'll ever be as he was before. If nothing else, Givens would be able to slide right into that number two spot, as he did on the Pats (well I might add), and if another player comes along in subsequent years or a draft pick develops, great. Givens is not a bad addition at all. Moulds would be the best, then Givens, then ARE to fix the WR position given who is available in FA.

Then he'll be sub-mediocre instead of mediocre.

If it's not Moulds, then I'm OK with Givens.

The best options are Moulds or ARE, no doubt... but Givens is a good player and much better than banking on what the team has now.
