Shawn Barber, the same guy whose knee is toast, is a bad signing,

totally agree....even at the minimum i dont want him...id much rather go after lavar in the same way they got barber the first time around...this reeks of andys god complex issues...thinking he can turn water into malt liquor just because hes him

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

I wouldn't mind Barber as a backup/special teamer assuming that his knees can hold up. And that is the major issue, if his knees hold up I think the Eagles are still cognizant that he's not the player he used to be. I'm guessing JJ likes him because he knows the scheme pretty well and can contribute on certain plays, but I doubt the Eagles will bring him in and say that he's the every Sunday solution.

Good to see Bentley is going to be in Eagle green, and I hope they put him as C because I think that is one position that needed to be soldified along that line.

The BIGSTUD

I hope we still sign a stud OLB this offseason. It doesn't even have to be Peterson or Witherspoon. It can be Ayodele or something.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

They will when he's out there making tackles and blowing up offenses.

I officially hate the Jeff Garcia signing. Also, I will give one last hail for Neckbeard and his decade of service.

I agree, what do we want with that noodle armed Garcia? He doesn't have the arm strength to break an egg. :boo

And yes, I'll miss Detmer, the person. He'd become a fixture on the team. As for Detmer the player, I'll try and remember him as the qb who came in for McNabb during the Forty Niner game. I think that was his best hour.

HAIL!!

signing bentley would be great....garcia would be an upgrade over the crap they had this year...plus it gives us an opportunity to post pics of his ultra hott girlfriend...even if she's just a beard.
i'll pass on barber though.

Plus it opens up a cornucopia of gay humor that will fill the boards for at least a year after he leaves.

How someone can hate a former pro bowl QB coming in as a backup is beyond me.

I'd be glad to have Garcia as a back up.

I hope to hell they don't think Barber is the answer for the LB woes.

I have a sneaking suspicion that DGunn is going to make us all look stupid for thinking all of this is a done deal. Bentley better come through though.

Me too. I used to feel differently about Detmer, but as of last year, he's proven to me that he's a waste of a roster spot. Garcia knows the system as well as Detmer, doesn't have any worse of an arm, and he has a much better track record when it comes to actually being on the field.

garcia is a huge upgrade.  yea he's a rat, but the guy does have an arm compared to detmer and mcmahon and also can scramble.  quityer bitchn

I don't get the hatin' on Garcia, either....   he's a huge upgrade over last year's back-ups, and I'm comfortable with his experience if he needs to fill in for 5 during the season....
