Nice.

USA is the only one of those I ever watch, but it's still nice.

Isn't there still one more big wave of new HD channels coming?

Supposedly they'll be getting up the rest to reach 70 total added by the end of October.

I had to have a tech come out to the house yesterday and fix my HD problem, I was only getting half of the new channels, and my locals were flaky. Wasn't the convertor. He did some mumbo on the dish, and I was watching the Phils in HD. Perrrrfect. No pixilation or anything.

I actually feel sorry for you.

So while I was in Philly over the weekend there was a storm in KC and my dish got knocked over.  So I stand it back up and get no signal.  I call directv technical support (which is a farging nightmare to actually get a live person on the phone) and the biatch who answers my call tells me I can fix it myself by looking up the info on d-tv's website.  So I look up the info and find out that the tools I need are a wrench and a compass.  I have a wrentch but don't have a compass.  Turns out that in order to properly align the dish you need to shoot an azimuth of xxxo.  Ok, now because of my time in the military I know what an azimuth is and how to properly shoot one.  But unless you've got a job that requires you to be handy with a compass or unless you're a hunter or some sort of outdoor nature hiking nut, who the hell even knows what an azimuth is?

Seriously, do any of you non-military type folk out there even know what it is?

I call them back and set up a service call but that bastiches won't be here until next week.  I'm really glad I'll be at the game this weekend because I damn sure wouldn't be able to watch it from home.

You don't need a compass.  Get up around 6:30 AM, and stand with your back to the sunrise.  Put your right arm out at a 90 degree angle from your body.  It's pointing north.  Then, after lowering your right arm back to your side, raise your left arm to a 90 degree angle from your body.  That one is pointing south.  You'll be looking west.  Then, shoot your absinthe.

The DirectTV DVR scheduler on the DirectTV website is awesome.  I know Tivo had this technology, but its nice to see i can schedule stuff from work to record

I like my DTV DVR's just fine.  I might like TiVo more long-term, but it's not worth the hassle of learning a new interface.

i have both, well at least a SD Tivo, and the HR 20, i'll take a tivo any day of the week because of the dual live buffers, so its constantly recording two channels, i hate that the HR 20 doesnt do it.

I have two channels I can record on at the same time. Though if you are there's no live left and you have to watch what your recording. Is that the difference?
