ever come home a little tipsy and accidently walk into the wrong house?

Instead of walking to my buddies car Thursday night, I walked up to a different car by mistake and accidentally scared the bejesus out of the couple making out. Ooops.

D* probably isn't going to handshake with TiVo as well once they have more of their own DVR's available.

Reminder:  DirecTV is going HD on over 100 channels by the end of the year.

Also, this is a nice feature for those of us with Sunday Ticket:

FF, looks like either today or Sunday they will have up anywhere from 20-40 hd channels.  They were supposed to go up Wednesday but that fell thru

I'm just glad they're going to "overlay" onto existing channels instead of having all the alternate channels.  Much easier for me.

Being able to watch Sunday Ticket on the internet is pretty damn cool, although I hope I never have to do it.

Hopefully, I'll be on HD by the end of the year as well.

Test Channel now up for HD

FF if your working remote from home, check out channel 498.  Its a test to see if the B Band Converter on your HD can read the new satellite signal.  Mine worked fine this morning.

BTDT... but since I just moved less than a month ago, and got a new dish and a fresh install, I wasn't too concerned.

the rumor now is it should be up at the latest of Sept. 30th, but they are hoping to suprise people with an earlier date.

Rome

My buddy was telling me over the weekend that he and his brother are going to get a DirecTV franchise for installation, sales and service.

He said that DirecTV pays $495 for each installation of their systems for residential customers.  He said that you can hire as many installation techs as you want and considering all the new business they'll be getting due to the integration of more HD channels, I'd say he'll be swimming in cash sooner rather than later.

Good for him.

I just got my HD box hooked up this morning.  I ended up just going with Comcast because I'm only paying $30 a month for the next 6 months and I get all the HD channels plus all the movie channels.  Doesn't have as many as Direct TV yet, but it has about 15, with a bunch more being added next week, like A&EHD and Food Network HD.

In 6 months I'll probably go with the dish if they keep adding channels like they say they are.

I watched my first HD Sportscenter in my house this morning and I don't know how I've gone this long without it.  And just in time for the Phils tonight.
