Tivo's automatically record both channels.  On the DTV model you have to record both channels, then you can flip back and reverse and forward thru, on a tivo, its a dual live buffer so it automatically allows you to switch between two channels and reverse whenever you feel like.

DTV is losing XM/Sirus in February of this year.  Also saw that DTV launched a new satellite on 12/28 and they're gonna be offering 80 more hd channels by April

damn, sucks about losing the xm/sirus stations.

MDS

so anyone else have time warner cable?

it kills me to say this but i miss comcast. twc sucks. the interface is horrendous, the controller has a number of essential buttons hidden. the on demand setup looks like it was made in 1998. it just blows. the dvr sucks too. and the best deal i could find is 50 bucks for a year with free dvr for 3 months. comcast at the least offers 30 with free hbo for a year for first time customers. god i hate ted turner.

and also farg directv. youd think if they can figure out how to send a satellite up into space they could figure out a way to have that signal go through trees or branches. good god.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

the whole broadcasting thru solid objects technology is a few years off.

VS is back for DTV users, also they're in negotiations to get CSN Philly done from what i've read, its gonna hopefully be soon.

from what i remember (saw an interview with mr. roberts) the whole hold up on other carries being able to provide CSN was a bill that dated back to the prism days where the sattelite companies couldn't transmit prism's programing because it was sent via landline. the bill ran out and he said comcast is going to have to make it available to all carriers.  of course they could tie it up for years by stalling negociations forever.

don't the phils still play a lot of games on csn?  or are you saying that they'll be blacked out for out of market subscribers?

PhillyGirl

They play some games on CSN, but a lot of them on Channel 17 (myphil17.com)

Sgt PSN

even if it's only some games.....let's say 1/4 of the season, which is 40 games.  that's 40 more games than what i had available to me before.  so it's still a huge win for me.

of course, with my luck they'll all be day games during the work week.

ice grillin you

you dont get games on any channel unless you buy the package...you will get csn but when a games on it it will be blacked out if you didnt pay for the baseball package

ghey

still, it will provide a nice alternative to sportscenter to catch the daily scores/highlights with more emphasis on the philly teams along with some of the other shows that revolve directly around the philly sports world.

what about the sixers?  do they still play on csn at all?  if so, is it going to be impacted the same way as baseball?

ice grillin you

every sports package is the same in that way...and yes the sixers are on csn but even when there game is not you still wont get it without having the package...short of it being a national game on espn/tbs

but yes you will get all other csn goodies like sports night...pre and post game shows ect...

haven't actually seen csn in probably 2 or 3 years so i looked at their lineup and noticed that cataldi no longer has his show.  lolololol.  when did they finally wise up and pull the plug on that travesty?
