How can his injury be a "groin thing" unrelated to the sports hernia.  A sports hernia is a partial tear of the groin muscle from the pelvic bone.  ??

Apparently, his injury is very LOW on the groin, not close to the abdomen.  Not that I think it should matter.  He should get his surgery ASAP and be put on IR.  There is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that is the best scenario now.
