Casey Hampton just signed an extension for $23 million w/ a $7m bonus.  The market's drying up Mr. Simon. :deion

Good luck for Corey to get much more than that.

Eckel--who said he talks frequently with Simon--said on WIP this morning that he's looking for a five year deal with a total value of $25 mil, with a signing bonus of $10-15 mil. That's WAY over-valued for Corey, IMO. He also said he was satisfied with the Franchise amount of $5+ mil for this season, but didn't necessarily want to risk injury in camp/preseason games because of a lack of a long-term deal.

He said Corey told him he's been keeping himself in shape this Summer, unlike last Summer when his planter fascia injury kept him from running (Eckel's words, not mine). Rhea pointed out he could've gone swimming, rode a bike, or something less stressful to his foot, to which Eckel didn't really respond.

Gargano later said he has a feeling something is in the works to trade Simon, possibly to Buffalo. He didn't say who he thought the Eagles may get, though (at least not while I was listening).

Larry

Yeah, they were guessing a defensive player.  The only area which seems to be a little thin is DE.
More Mahe please.

Josh Reed and draft picks for Corey would make sense for both teams IMO.

Even though Josh Reed sucks.

if you're thinking of trading Simon for a guy that sucks, why not just cut the guy and go with the inexperienced WRs you already have?  no point in adding suck to a group of wide receivers.

mussa

how about we send simon to arizona, pick up boldin??? horst muffeons?>?

Me thinks he sucks less than Carlos Perez.

Mad-Lad

i can't say that i know anything about either of them.  does carlos perez have any upside?  If I remember correctly, Josh Reed was supposed to replace Peerless as the #2 guy in Buffalo, but sucked pretty bad.

Rome

I can't believe they set aside $5.13M for that fat fargin piece of shtein.

They should have just cut his ass and moved on.

I can't imagine Buffalo is going to offer him the type of contract that he wants.  FFatPatt, I don't remember Simon particularly sucking in the playoffs.  Looking at the stats, only Hollis really had any impact among our DT's with 1 sack and 8 tackles.

What he supposedly turned down last year:

5 years @ $5M = base salaries of $25 million

$25M + $7.2M = $32.2 million

5 years $32.2 million and it got turned down?

Roosevelt Barnes is one of the hardass agents. He's pretty close to the Poston Brothers as far as being low-lifes.

These negotiations are going to get very ugly I think. Banner and Reid are very movable at the table and Barnes isn't either.

Do you, then, remember him playing like a guy who deserves an 8-figure signing bonus?

How about a guy who deserves to make $5+ million in salary this year?

Hint:  The answer is HELL FARGING NO.
