That injury was a symptom of the problem PG mentions, not the problem itself. A bona fide franchise DT worth the money this moron is asking for keeps himself in playing shape year round. That's just part of the deal if you want the big big bucks.

no, she said that he was fat and out of shape from holding out last year. he didn't hold out, he came to camp, got injured, and couldn't practice and didn't get into game shape.

but through all that, you both are acknowledging that when his is in shape, he is a dominating DT. i contend that he will come to camp in shape this year and play well. people on here act like he is the 4th DT and can easily be replaced.

I know what you said, and I know what she said.  My point was that his injury was a symptom of his being fat and disgusting.  If he had kept his weight down and been taking care of business, the injury wouldn't have happened.  Or if it did happen, it wouldn't have been as difficult to recover from.  Hard to get healed properly when the injured part is carrying 40 extra pounds.

And I have not admitted that he is dominant when healthy.  I haven't seen cause to use that adjective from him in quite a long time.  He's an above average player who benefits by the scarcity of decent players at his position.  We can do without him..especially at 6 farging mil.

You're all wrong. Simon got fat because he ate his own foot which he hurt while he was desperately dieting to lose the weight he gained from eating his cleats and shoulderpads. Now he has one foot and no pads so he can't practice.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Eagles should keep him around because DT's are hard to find and as already has been mentioned, Walker may play some in the DE rotation.  I expect the same as last year, fat and out of shape for the first 4-6 weeks and then solid down the stretch.  Grasmanis is done and Simon can be valuable in the DT rotation.  The franchise tag doesn't bother me because I know he will not be tagged next year and he is untradeable this year due to contract demands.

I was under the impression that Simon, when motivated, is an above average pass rusher, but just an average run stopper. He isn't well rounded enough to get the money he's asking for, but he's certainly a great part of any rotation. So what if he comes back to camp and the Eagles work him back into game shape as the season progresses. By the end of the season he could be useful, and gives security against injuries. I think the Eagles should hold onto him for as long as it takes. Doesn't hurt this year if he sits and it doesn't hurt if he plays.

Cut him and use the money to give Perez a big contract.

He's 6'4", which is 76 inches. He armspan is 86 inches!!! that's.......................................................................... give or take 10 inches more? And if you don't know what I'm talking about, go back to France with your Metric system.

That's incorrect, though.  He was fat and out of shape, then played excellent during the middle of the season, then was fatigued and much less explosive through the playoffs.

The FO should send Simon a registered letter that says,

Dear Corey,

You have not signed the tender offer we submitted, therefor you have no contract.  Since you have no contract there are no implications to us removing the tag and releasing you.  Good luck and try to find a job!

Very truly yours,

I don't know how they'd get an animated smilie on the letter.

QB Eagles

They could just send him a video of Banner reading the letter and acting it out.
