They've been pushing RB's back for years now. I can't wait to see when they finally hit that cap hell from doing it so much.

Hell, the ink wasn't even dry on Trot's deal there and they had to restructure it. Same with Samuels too.
As some people like to say, Cash Creates Cap.  This salary cap hell is like a mirage in the desert.  I used to think it would happen.  But after 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years of hearing this?  I'm pretty sure it will never happen the way people think it will.  The lack of a CBA could be a problem, but even then, they'll probably find a way.

I also liked Pierce better, but Marshall did fine calling the formations for the first year.
And I'm talking about as it was happening for the Burgess situation.  He didn't look like he deserved the money at the time.
Neither did AP.  He wanted too much money.

PhillyPhreak54

Did you guys know that Lemar Marshall was on the Eagles once upon a time? He was a safety back in '99 on the practice squad.

IGY,

I'm one of those who didn't really mind Burgess walking. Homer or not, I thought the Raiders forked over a lot of $$$ for a guy who hadn't been healthy in 3 years and only had that one good post-season. I would've liked him to stay but at the money they gave him I was OK with him walking. He had potential and we saw what it was this year. But I can guarantee you that had they matched the Raiders offer or exceeded it and he got hurt again they'd be getting ripped for signing an injury prone guy. He went balls out this year for sure. But I have a hard time ripping them for letting him walk strictly because of the injury situation.

2001 - Good ala Cole this year.
2002 - broken foot
2003 - torn achilles
2004 - separated sternum
2005 - stud
2006 - ?

I think your boy Cole is going to be a monster though.

Your right, Danny boy must pay of the league.

Nice math, dude.  Except, when they restructure those roster bonuses, some of it will count against this year.  I'm too lazy, and don't care, to look up the lengths of each of their remaining contracts, but that 15.9 MM number is bullshtein.  Probably closer to half that, which leaves you under, but not 16MM under.
Anyone but Reid.

First off, that 'trade' of Arrington is not going to happen. Who the hell is going to pick up that contract?
He will be cut if anything, which will take that $7 mill in savings and turn it into many millions of hurt.

Sgt PSN

The Skins will be paying Arrington to play somewhere else next year where he will win DPOTY and go to the Pro Bowl.  Skins fans REJOICE!!

rjs246

Get Arrington! And Witherspoon! And Greenway! Yay linebackers!
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

IGY,

I'm one of those who didn't really mind Burgess walking. Homer or not

i dont think youre a homer for that

i wanted him kept bad...i felt stronger about him than cole...at the same time im not gonna sit here and say that i said it was a bad move at the time nor will i hate on them for it now...but to me thats the kind of decision that seperates the good front offices from the great ones and they FO is not immune to criticism for the burgess move

the homers are the ones that say even now theres no way they could have signed him and that it was a good move no matter how many sacks he had
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

rjs246

Obviously, whatever he's getting paid, he earned his paycheck this year. 16 sacks is a huge season.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

General_Failure

It was a gamble that paid off. The Raiders were bound to have a FA move work in their favor some day.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Sgt PSN

Burgess was the beneficiary of offensive lines double and triple teaming Warren Sapp.   'Cause he's awesome.
