i dont know somehow sandwiches are so good in philly that even chaining up doesnt really effect them...especially if you go to the og of a certain spot....primos south phil hasnt dropped one bit and they are everywhere...i think a place like shacks which was never  great to begin with becomes terrible when branching out

but shtein nicks steves primos...christ even sarcones went blasphemous and none of them imo have fallen off one bit...the primos in ocean city md while not as good as the og is still banging as shtein

the problem with cheesesteaks is bad ones are pretty bad and theres a lot of them....but the best cheesesteaks kill anything

in other words its hard to make a great steak...where as the worst roast pork is still good

I like Tony Luke's roast pork Italian mostly because it's close to everything I'd be doing if I were in Philly.

The place in Reading Terminal Market (DiNic's) that Sunny told me about was unreal, though.  I'd fly to Philly for one right this second if I weren't poor and under-employed.

i agree with this completely

johns bread is wack...shtein always falls apart from the moisture of the sandwich....i mean a sturdy roll is like sandwich 101...whats really good at johns is their breakfast hoagies

johns won best sandwich in the city a few years ago i think on the macnow eat challenge thing he does and now people massively overrate it even people who havent been there...id be suprised if the lil guy has ever even been there...its only open from like 10-3 on weekdays...its funny hearing people talk about going to johns after games and shtein...i usually dont have the heart to tell them its not even open then...johns to me will always have a special place in my heart tho as thats where we all went before the phillies parade

dinics is very good...what i like about them is that they have been featured on food network a bunch of times over the last say ten years but have never changed one bit

again tho with roast pork there isnt much difference btwn the best and worst...its grade scale would probably run A-C where as a steak or hoagie would be the standard A-F

i agree with this...if i drive to the game or get a ride i always hit tony lukes before just because it's so close to the linc. they are good but honestly don't think it's that much better than the roast pork down here at taylor, if at all.
