hobbit - lol if it was 66 minutes

lincoln - saw it....excellent and didnt seem overly long

le miz - i saw a scene from this where russel crowe is singing his lines...like it wasnt a song within a film he was signing something like "no you will not get your bread today"....it was indescribably awful

Total Recall - better than i thought, still bad though

Chronicle - liked a lot

add to this

Lawless - liked it but it had potential to be great and didn't quite get there

Safety Not Guaranteed - small film starring Pete from The League has a guy who thinks he can time travel and he puts an ad in the paper for a partner.  a couple of people from a magazine go to do a story on him and the one girl gets involved.  it was a pretty decent movie.

The Hobbit was awful.

I saw it yesterday and liked it. Definitely about a half hour longer than it could have been, but I like that they're getting into the whole Necromancer sidestory that was only barely mentioned in the book. It will be cool to see the origins of Sauron's return and how the wizards and all them dealt with it and etc

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

django - below pulp and inglorious, above kill bill and reservoir (which i always felt was overrated). regardless, still an awesome movie with the typical qt unreal script, music, camera shots and mood. violence was over the top, as it should be. only thing is they said stillupfront so much then had these rather intense slave whipping scenes. it was just an odd turn. first its trying to be funny because they keep saying stillupfront, then its harrowing because you see how devalued human beings were. just kind of have to go with it.

8.5/10
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

finally saw silver linings playbook today. movie of the year for me. it was well on it's way to being a perfect movie except for one 15-20 minute stretch towards the end which was kind of horrible. i may have cried. twice. and i apparently am the last person on earth to know who jennifer lawrence is but i'm now in love and will probably watch every movie she's ever been in over the weekend.

such a good movie. A+

this is 40

had its share of funny scenes but pretty much 2+ hours of bitching and whining. not apatow's best. positives include megan fox and a bunch of flyers randomly showing up at the club and dancing. not sure who this was made for but i think possibly older people would like it better than youngins.

apatow is pretty terrible as a director...his better movies are when he produces

It doesn't need to be 3 movies, 2 would be stretching it. The over use of CGI ruined the movie for me.

Rome

the matrix was groundbreaking and almost universally hailed as a great movie.

not by igy, though.  nope.

Diomedes

Why do you care?  farg him.

Come to think of it, farg you too.

Rome

I have feelings, Dio, and you insist on hurting them.

A period of self-critique and repentance seems in order.

flight

not bad. denzel plays a really good coked out, alcoholic pilot. really hit home except for the pilot part.

It was groundbreaking in regards to special effects but I thought the movie itself was hard to watch.
