two things make me think he dies:

-the previews all say the end of the trilogy, which we all knew but they seem to make a point that this is the end

-when selena kyle tells him that he's given the people everything, he says "not yet" making me think the one last thing he can give them is his life
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

i agree the movie is going to be a huge disappointment...how can it not be after the last one...obviously this isnt realistic in hollywood but it should died with heath ledger

i know you all probably loved it but the first batman was just average to me and i think thats what this one will be...altho if batman dies that would be an incredible ending....does he die at any point in the comic books

Bane kills him in the comics if i remember correctly.  I have to agree with IGY on the first one when compared to The Dark Knight just doesn't hold up.  But Ledger was off the charts, and the fact he died built that up even more.  I think Batman Begins really just shocked everyone that you could actually do a movie about Batman and it not suck.

totally agree with this....it was a quality movie just not a very good one...especially compared to the utter filth that preceeded it

The Scarecrow as the first villian was a letdown

Bane doesn't kill him. He breaks his spine and cripples him.

For some reason I think the Dark Knight is going to be a disapointment. Don't know if Bane was the right villian to use to finish with.

i have the same feeling.

something just feels off in the previews.  i think it's going to be a totally depressing movie the whole time and then i think batman dies at the end

I gotta go with this as well. The trailer doesn't GRAB me like TDK did. I think it's gonna be a good movie, just a definite step down from TDK. I can't see Nolan killing him off though. You thought the backlash on killing Optimus Prime in 86 was bad...

I can absolutely see Nolan killing him off.  I think he and Bale would do it without hesitation especially since this is their last go-around.

I can't, however, see Warner Bros. allowing it under any circumstances.

Like it matters. They'll just reboot it.

If the brand can withstand Clooney & Alicia Silverstone, yep, it can pretty much survive anything.

exactly....i cant see anyone but the 1%'ers (the super dooper nerds) caring if batman died...because it would be nolans batman...two years from now there would be another director helming the project....or are there a lot of people out there that think batman is real

Batman is real.  He mugged a buddy of mine in Camp Lejeune.

And by the way, I completely agree with this, but meant W.B. wouldn't allow it for this movie because of the avalanche of negative publicity it would cause especially among the Comic Con crowd.

IGY was right in that TDK was a force of nature.  It was a perfect storm of a truly great script, amazing action sequences, first sequel, and a once-in-a-generation mesmerizing performance by Ledger.

General_Failure

Among the things that have happened to Batman in comics:

Been Helena Wayne, the Batwoman
Retired as Police Commissioner while married to Catwoman
Been Thomas Wayne Jr, the Owlman, son of Thomas Wayne Sr the criminal mastermind
Defeated crime in Gotham, retired, came out of retirement in his 50s to fight more crime
Been Thomas Wayne, watched his wife and son get killed, became a Batman not afraid to kill his enemies
Been Superman
Been paralyzed by Bane
Had umpteen million Robins, some of them died
Travelled back in time, letting Dick Grayson become Batman
Turned Batman into a franchise, recruiting and training others to be the goddamn Batman

There is pretty much nothing they can do that should surprise anyone.

The man. The myth. The legend.
