automatic three stars for being written by dennis lehane and featuring beaddie russell and omar. get a grip, igy.

michael clayton- well-acted, well-paced thriller. simply an entertaining, intelligent movie to watch. not really best picture worthy, but clooney was terrific. 3.5/5

you watch lost dont you?...and other mindless crap on tv...thats the only explanantion for liking a lifetime tv movie ending like the last hour of  gone baby gone and downplaying an incredible movie made in the mold of the greats from the 70's which most would agree is the the best decade ever for cinema

plus omar was in the movie for approximately 45 seconds....beadie was good tho...had a better boston accent than anyone in the departed
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

The only reason anyone would "agree" that the greatest movies came from the 70s is because they hadn't watched anything from the 40s and 50s.  Go watch The Maltese Falcon or Angels with Dirty Faces, and tell me again how great Miller's Crossing is.
Anyone but Reid.

well im admittedly ignorant when it comes to old movies...i find it hard to watch anything say pre 1965 and i dont do black and white at all...i respect the architects but i just cant get into them...and theres no chance i could ever get thru the maltese falcon much less it be better than millers crossing...

the searchers is one of the few old movies that i like but even that i have a hard time seeing the brilliance in it...like i said i respect the firsts of anything and they usually carry more influence but thats doesnt make them better...because orson wells used deep focus in citizen kane may make him a ground breaker but it doesnt mean the movie itself isnt unwatchable

i liked the "what would you do" aspect of gone baby gone. not the greatest execution ever, but a solid story nonetheless.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Went to see Sweeny Todd, expecting to be bored to sleep fifteen minutes in. The awful CGI blood in the opening credits didn't help the movie any, but once the movie got started I found myself enjoying it. The singing, the part I figured I'd be put to sleep by, was great. Depp carried the movie, but the only performances I thought weren't up to par were the two teenagers.

4/5 because I was expecting a snoozefest.

transformers - pluses....excellent cgi maybe the best ive seen....the chick was john blaze...minuses...brutal acting....more brutal writing...triple brutal story...quadruple brutal length...why was this movie over 2.5 hrs long?

i finally watched transformers a few nights ago also.  the robot fight scenes alone made it more than a 2 for me, but i also thought it was way too long.  i fell asleep for the last half hour and had to watch the ending the next day.

they did a decent job considering the movie is based on a cartoon about alien robots who come to earth and transform into cars....and btw the cartoon was created to sell toys.

i mean no matter what they did the story was going to be brutal. but it was a fun movie. i wish it did have more robot fighting.

Transformers needed less humans in it. Less John Voight, too.

Gracious, it's been 20 years since I've seen that movie.  I had forgotten about it.

Saw Cloverfield last night.

Because of the camera work, the first few minutes gave me a headache.  Then I adjusted to it and didn't notice it as much.  I've heard comparisons to Godzilla with this movie but I didn't think that at all really.....I guess mostly because the movie was shot in the first person perspective to give you the idea that it actually happened, where everyone knows Godzilla is totally fake.  Good flick though and exciting throughout after the first 15 minutes or so.  Easily worth the $9 ticket.
