I watched all 3 movies and never read the books.  In fact, I wont ever read the books because Im going to spend that time watching 300 over and over.  And then after that, im going to watch Teen Wolf.

Post of the day.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

but I saw the first movie and was bored out of my skull

to this day the first lotr's remains the only movie iver ever walked out of the theater on

The missus and I both fell asleep for a good hour in the middle of the movie.

We didn't seem to miss much.  We'd both read the books, though.

its awful reading is what it is...

wrong again.  but that's cool.  you can have Renay Jackson and I'll take Tolkien and Herodotus.

Tom Bombadil is basically where I stopped reading LoTR. I repeatedly read and enjoyed The Hobbit, however.

The man. The myth. The legend.

You should all get AIDS for talking about books in a movie discussion.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Zanshin

It's an oldie, at this point, but I caught Suicide Kings on cable last night.  Not the greatest movie in the world, but it was entertaining.  Better that I thought it would be...and the more I thought about it after the movie, the better I thought it was.  Pleasant surprise.

300 is basically the love child of Lord of the Rings and Gladiator

not even close

lord of the rings/the hobbit et al is one of the most beloved pieces of american literature ever....300 is from some comic book or graphic novel no one has ever heard of

glaidator wasnt half cartoon and had at least a limited plot....300 is all war but instead of it being the civil war or vietnam its some crap from 10000 years ago that no one has ever heard of and even fewer people care about

like i said it will please its defined target audience but not much more...and theres nothing wrong with that

You really should go around and pretend that the premise for 300 came soley from a graphic novel. Really...go ahead, it'll make you look smart for the ladies.

I watched Shaun of the Dead last night.

I dont know why it took a few years, but it was pretty funny in parts.

zach snyder had no friggin clue what the battle of thermotite was before hearing about it in the novel...and if he says he did hes lying

in fact theres only about five people on earth that had ever heard of it before the movie

i watched the 40-year old virgin again the other night.  i've owned it since it came out on DVD yet I don't think I'd ever watched other than once in the theater.  still funny.  when that drunk girl in the car says she was some french toast i lose it.

It's Thermopylae not thermotite, dook.   I read about it in college--we actually read Herodotus--as did millions of others.  It's one of the most well known battles in all history, your ignance notwithstanding.  Just because you got a zesty education or failed to pay attention in school don't mean the whole world did the same.

btw...I agree that fewer people know of Thermopylae than Mordor.  If that's all you're trying to say in your usual hyperbolic uber-combative, insulting, up-with-ignorance way, then you're right.
