"Pirates 2" is the luckiest movie of all time.  It sucked, but it made a ton of money, and it sets up all the people who saw it for a big time end to the trilogy in part 3, so that will make even more money.

farging Disney.

Matrix 2 did the same thing.

I avoided both sequels to "The Matrix" somehow, even though I enjoyed the original.

SunMo

you aren't missing anything with the sequels.

the original is still one of my top 5 favorite modern movies.

A bunch of people basically told me the exact same thing, which helped me make my genius decision not to see them.

SunMo

they aren't awful, and it doesn't hurt to see the story play out, but they can't hold a candle to the original, and that's usually bad for a sequel.

I never saw Matrix 3, mostly because I hated the second one, I did really like the original.

I have absolutley no desire to see 3

I eventually caught the third one on HBO, but I don't think I watched the whole thing. Caught the crap ending though.

finally saw the departed yesterday...what a great movie...seems like everyone has a different opinion on who was best in the movie...i was very pleasently surprised at how good dicaprio was...easily his best performance ever (basketball diaries)...i dont know how he wasnt nominated for this...

marky mark was great too

the movie was about 20 minutes too long from being a classic...i could have done without EVERYONE getting killed in the end as well..all in all tho an outstanding picture

8.5/10

I saw it a week or two ago and totally agree.  Great movie.

The Protector - From beginning to end, just a what the farg kind of movie as far as storyline or plot. I found myself laughing histarically at times, well pretty much every few minutes or new schene.  Just a utterly horrible movie, other than the action/fight scenes, which were in my opinion, the most realistic looking martial arts sequences I ever saw. It actually looked like the kicks, punches, falls, etc.. were real. I noticed in the back of the dvd case, they didn't use cables or CGI in any of the scenes.  This movie goes down in my book as one of those movies that are so bad, yet so good.

5/5  :-D

p.s. - the end of the movie is so funny, yet so awesome you might loose control of your bowels.

Shut up, or I will club you with my trusty elephant leg bone. The funny thing when I watched this movie with my wife, who is from Thailand, was terribly embarassed. I laughed harder at times to increase her shame.

Seriously though, if you like the fight scenes in that flick, but thought the plot and storyline were bad, check out Ong-bak it's a foreign job with english sub-titles and all, has the same dude from The Protector, but the fight scenes are unbelievable, and the story was a little better. I think you can get it through NetFlix or Blockbuster Online should have it.
