Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Invincible... pretty damn good movie.  Wahlberg is great in it... a really good performance.  The supporting cast was very good as well, particularly Kick Acevedo, who plays his best friend Tommy.  Greg Kinnear captured the nuances of Vermeil at times, and he did a decent enough job, but I just couldn't get past the fact that I was looking at Greg Kinnear, not Dick Vermeil.  Elizabeth Banks was nice to look at.

Overall, the movie did a really good job of creating a Philly feel... (from what I know of it anyway)... of course, you'll hear a few of the same ol' shots at Eagle fans... (Santa Claus).  The football scenes looked real enough... although a little cheesy at times.  Enjoyable movie.

The BIGSTUD

I saw Silent Hill.

Not a big horror fan at all. I've never seen a horror movie that I truly liked, but for a horror movie, this was pretty decent. It actually made you think a bit, sort of like The Ring.

But good for a horror movie, doesn't necessarily mean good. I liked the ending though. It makes you think. Overall, it was just okay.

Life Imitates Art at 'Snakes' Screening
New Samuel L Jackson film Snakes On A Plane became terrifyingly real for Arizona cinema-goers when pranksters released two live rattlesnakes into the theatre, causing widespread panic. The two young venomous diamondback rattlers were released during a screening in Phoenix on Friday. Local news reports say the snakes caused chaos among the audience and snake wranglers were called in to collect them. No one was injured during the incident and the culprits have not been caught. Officials believe the snakes were smuggled into the theatre in backpacks. According to Phoenix Herpetological Society spokesman Daniel Marchand, "All they've got to do is startle this thing. It's dark. They can't see you that well. If it's scared - boom - it strikes!" The snakes were eventually captured and released into the Arizona desert.

I just watched Cache (Hidden).

I thought I liked it for the entire time I was watching it. And then it ended and I didn't like it anymore.

As a movie-nerd side note it was one of the best directed and shot movies I've ever seen.

Oh yeah, it was also worth noting that I actually reacted physically to one of the scenes in Cache. I don't remember ever doing that in any movie. It was so shocking and the tension in the film was so high at that point that it was utterly involuntary. Pretty remarkable.

The alternate ending to "Clerks" is cool, but it would make "Clerks II" impossible.
