spring traning is actually much better when they suck cause it cuts down on the crowds and the douchebag factor

They blew last season, we knew they'd blow, it was still packed and the douchebag factor was high.

smeags

yeah rome going tomorrow kinda supports that .....  :paranoid
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

fans still had hope i guess compared to a year like this where they tried to blow it up... go in a year like this year and the atmosphere is much better...the other day for example the stadium was 3/4 empty and it was the opener and the yankees

when they are really good they sell out and you cant breathe in the place...i had to scalp tickets a few years ago
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Rome

2010 was the worst.  Every skeezy frat bro from the del Val had to have taken spring break there.

This is a family deal for me so no boozing but I would otherwise be pickled by 9:00 AM at the tilted kilt across the street.

smeags

mmm the titled kilt ... may be going to the KOP location for lunch today. it's nice to see a bunch of fine young scottish lasses working their way through college.

Rome

The moon shot Buchanan gave up landed 10 feet from me.  Almost spilled my $8 beer.

Rome

jesse biddle got torched today

he sucks
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

I left Clearwater at 4:15 and just walked thru the door in Daytona.  What a hideous ride back from that place.

Anyway, this team is going to be infinitely more dreadful than anyone thinks.  They have zero spark.  They have no one who can actually hit the ball.  I watched hitter after hitter up there without a farging clue of what to do in the box and during the rare occasion they got guys on base, they either struck out or bounced into harmless ground-outs.  I won't even get into the pitching because it's irrelevant.

This is my 24th year of spring training in Clearwater and this is the first time I've ever walked out of the place without any hope.  The fans were dead.  The players were awful or inept.  Just the most depressing day ever at a place where you're all but guaranteed a great time any other year.

That's it.  That's all I got.

Geowhizzer

Thought about heading up at some point.  But between this being the onslaught of testing for the next six weeks and the Phils just flat out having nothing to offer, I decided to skip it altogether this year.

Papelbon said they're contenders so I'll believe him

So zip it Rome!!
