Rob Ryan is staying with the Saints for another season, and the league rejoiced

BigEd76

Falcons restructured their front office too

Asst GM Pioli takes over pro/college scouting and continues to report to GM Dimitroff, who will handle the Howie stuff.  The latter and the new head coach will report to Arthur Blank

It's a cool stat, but I'd bet that the Packers haven't played many playoff road games in their history either. When they're good, they tend to be good enough to get home games. Ravens on the other hand, especially under Harbaugh and Flacco, seem to sort of stumble through the reg season and then turn it up in the playoffs.

Shanahan and the QB coach out in Cleveland

The independent report from Mueller found the NFL didn't see the Rice video prior to the public release and there was no evidence of a voicemail that acknowledged receipt of the video, but the report did say that the NFL didn't do enough to follow up on the charges

QB Eagles

The site that grades every player on every play put out their All-Pro team for the year.

offense
defense
special teams

Watt was their overall MVP. Peters was ranked the second best offensive lineman and the Eagles OL as a whole was ranked second, in spite of injuries, the Lane Johnson suspension, being one of the most penalized lines, and the general ineffectiveness of the running game for much of the season. The site basically puts that on McCoy and says the run blocks were the best in the NFL.

QuoteThe 2014 Regular Season is in the books and as ever we've watched every player, on every play, of every game.

They throw a lot of BS around. I remember writing them maybe 3 years ago, thinking of joining. I was really surprised when I saw their slogan every player every play. So I asked how they got to be able to see the all-22 coaches film because other than teams almost nobody is given access (Didi and Cosell were a couple of exceptions). The wrote back they didn't have it. How can you watch every player on every play with a TV feed? Bullshtein.

They are also off in their assessments. Calling the OLine the second best in the league is akin to those players making the pro bowl who only played like 5 games, or are a big name that had a shtein year.

Apparently I'm in the minority but I don't think Peters had a great year. Overall he was good but that's it. He def gave up pressures and sacks and wasn't as dominant in the run game, especially getting into the second level. He was a flag machine, 3rd among all OLine players in penalties (though I remember one wasn't his fault. Kelce didn't snap the ball on count and Peers was the 1st to move). He also didn't seem to play with as much confidence and authority this year. Some of that is to be expected playing with liability backups. But for a while he was doing this thing where he was trying to time his kickout off the line to the snap count, starting a split second sooner like a DE might try in timing the snap, but he drew at least 1 or 2 false starts. Maybe he was doing it because he was taking a more narrow split to compensate for the guard but I'm not sure that works when they run, especially when zone blocking. All in all good but not elite and I don't think PFF always sees the forest through the stats.
