we got lucky growing up in that era for sure....but the people who grew up with vincent hugh and dawk are going to look down just as fondly on them as we did gang green

perfect example is lil guy always shteinting on the buddy era and j rockin trotter jerseys on sacred lands

lol...thats more of a troll than anything. but the worshiping of buddy is ridiculous considering the 0 playoff wins.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The single most dominating defensive performance I've ever seen was Seth Joyner in the HOP game.

Clyde Simmons sacking Aikman 4 times when the '91 D had eleven all together. I think every D lineman had one, even Mike Golic. They held that great offense to 90 something overall yards.

Damn I loved that defense. 99 and Gangreen.

Buddy was a loudmouthed fat ass who had no business being a head coach.  I can think of a dozen coaches who probably would have won multiple superbowls with the talent he had on his teams.

Rome

Their offensive line was one of the worst units in the history of the team.  They had no running game to speak of in the late 80's either.  They had Randall, who was a human highlight reel, but let's not confuse him with any sort of quarterback either.  He was a freak who was able to run the ball, and he had an absolute cannon of an arm, but he was horrendously inaccurate and he was careless with the ball.

They had a window and an unholy trinity of dickface Braman firing Buddy, Jerome dying, and Bryce farging Paup destroying Randall's knee effectively shut it forever.

Cunningham was so inaccurate that when he was pretty much over the hill he went to Minny and had one of the greatest offensive seasons in the history of the game.

Which is amazing because, if I recall, that team had the worst receivers ever. Two nobodies no one has ever heard of, and Jake Reed.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

He had two anomalous years, 1990 & 1998:

Also - note the 1998 season.  There's one stat that stands out among all the others.  That would be the number of sacks he had to endure (a measly 20).  Again - the Eagles offensive line was absolutely putrid during his prime.  If he had a great offensive line in Philly he might have put up numbers similar to those in 1998 with Minny.  Too bad we'll never know.

Really? He was a pro bowl qb who was, in his prime, an MVP candidate.

I didn't like him much but you can't deny his ability.

While that is true, he also had two of the greatest receivers ever to play the game. He did have a lot of talent but also a 2 cent head. Whenever you hear the "team of destiny" talk you know it is all over.

MDS

also in 1998 he had cris carter and randy moss....carter was basically in his prime and moss was disgusting. i think that was rookie year when he was totally uncoverable. a lot of their tds were just bombs to him double coverage.

SD

But all he did here was catch Touchdowns

General_Failure

I think you're all overlooking the biggest part of that Vikings offense.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

He was the cure for a lot of their ills, that's for sure.
