Read somewhere yesterday that they're doing yet another Rocky movie titled "Creed."  This time Rocky is training Apollo Creed's grandson, who grew up rich and spoiled and doesn't really want to be a fighter.

I thought Rocky Balboa was ok.  I thought movie itself actually kind of sucked but they did a decent job on finally closing the book on Rocky himself and bringing some finality to the character's story.  Guess not.

The concept doesn't sound any worse than some of the other iterations, but of course it's a money grab. I mean, if Stallone isn't getting a lot of other work, it's a safe bet that he'll be pushing some sort of Rocky storyline. It's been his golden goose to this point.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i'm sure one of you nerds caught this already but i watched batman begins this afternoon and the little kid in the movie is king joffrey.

I just read this post. I haven't seen it but I'll look for him. Yesterday, I was watching a rerun of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the kid-talent show episode, the boy who's dancing is the kid from "Falling Skies" that no one watches except me from time to time to fill in my time between Game of Thrones and Walking Dead. I still can't latch on to the show, but I've managed to watch a season and half's worth.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

He's the little kid that batman throws his little night vision device to when the kid says "my friends won't believe me."

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I've been watching it for filler until TWD comes back, as well. Caught seasons 1 & 2 on Amazon to get caught up and I've been watching season 3 as it airs. First 2 seasons were decent but season 3 kind of sucks.  Last weeks episode might be the worst single episode in tv history.  God, it was awful.

Only 2 weeks until Hell on Wheels returns. It got moved from Sunday night to Sat which makes me wonder if it isn't on the chopping block.

I'm 4 episodes into the first season of Madmen. Pretty good so far.

Saw The Wolverine. I liked it. I'm a little surprised that it was as well-reviewed as it has been considering it had some elements that I think would turn off mass audiences who aren't already invested in the character; though those were the things I liked about it (the Japanese angle, the Phoenix references, the basis on the 80's miniseries).

It was probably more story and character driven than a lot of the more recent superhero movies, in that the superpowers were more of a secondary element in a lot of ways.

The Silver Samurai introduction felt a little rushed, and the Viper bit seemed forced, but it was entertaining enough that the wife and kid also were entertained. Solid effort.

The story and tone were great. The movie itself was decent. I didn't like the Phoenix angle and thought the Jean Grey stuff got annoying fast. If I remember correctly the 80/90's cartoon Silver Samurai was an ancient Samurai who could teleport and terrorized the village Logan was visiting to find peace. Thought that version of the Silver Samurai was better. Didn't like the Viper character at all.
