Notice poverty levels when Carter was in office are at it's lowest, THEN they spike once Reagan takes office and slowly decline until Bush Sr. takes office at which time they spike again. Then Clinton takes office and there's a large dip. Essentially Clinton had to lower poverty levels because they skyrocketed during the previous two presidents. Notice when the graph starts going up again? Once Bush Jr. takes office. So poverty levels are the lowest when a democrat has been in office.

Did I not mention the dot com boom in my post.  Obviously the economy was doing well, and the poverty rate dropped under Clinton.    However, if Democrats lead to such tremendous poverty rate drops, why did the poverty rate remain in the 12 percent territory?  Shouldn't they have skyrocketed with a conservative, Republican in office? 

Poverty rates are often manipulated and hence greatly criticized for what is included/not included.    The poverty rate also dipped and rose during the Reagan/Bush the elder years.   Shouldn't it have just skyrocketed until Clinton? 

And did you really bring up Carter and anything remotely positive?  Stagflation, record unemployment, atrocious foreign policy?

Poverty rates did skyrocket when a conservative was in office you farging dipshtein. Do you know how to read a graph? When the line goes up that means poverty has gone up, when the line trends down that means poverty has gone down.

Now that you know how to read a chart: Do you see how the lines trend upwards when a Republican is in office and they trend downwards when a Democrat is in office? Poverty rates went up when Reagan was in office, then slightly dipped, then they peaked again once Bush Sr. took office, then there was a sharp decline when Clinton was in office.
