Who cares if he's Christian? Or if Romney's a Mormon for that matter?

I'm pretty convinced Obama is more agnostic or atheist and just puts up the christian front because god forbid someone is in the White House and doesn't bow down to the Christian God.

It doesn't bother me that Romney is a Mormon either...The only part that does bother me is he might use his religious views on things like abortion as a reason to try to make that view the law.

Why are religious or non-religious views on social justice more acceptable than religious views on abortion?

Because banning abortion based on religious views in direct violation of the 1st amendment. You don't govern the nation based on faith, church and state are separated. You don't limit what a woman can/can't do with her reproductive system in the name of religion. This isn't the Taliban here.

Social Justice is not = to abortion, either. Trying to equate the two is asinine, but you know that.

Wrong ammendment.  14 Ammendment was used to justify Roe v Wade.   Just a history lesson, the whole case was built on the lie that Roe was raped.  She is now one of the biggest pro-life advocates.  The 2 justices in dissent wrote 2 of the most argumentative dissents in Supreme Court history, as nothing in the Constitution guaranteed the right to abortion and the right to usurp a state right's on deciding whether to legalize abortion.  Regardless, the Justice argued that the viability of the infant was to be taken into consideration, thus limiting abortions to early in pregnancy.  Obama supports partial-birth abortion (supreme court affirmed the ban of PBA) and also supports not providing medical service to an infant surviving abortion.

Hawk

Where does the constitution guarantee social justice?  That must be a new ammendment?

Separation of Church and State is in the 1st amendment...you don't tell a woman she can't control her reproductive system because God thinks it's bad.

Also, you should probably read the language of the bills that Obama voted against while in Ill. They were more or less personhood bills that would have criminalized doctors who provided abortions.

It has nothing to do with God.  I've been pretty agnostic, more deist than anything in my 20s, and still view abortion just as harshly as I did when I was going to Church every week.   Selfishness does not excuse what occurs in abortion.

Common Law and most statutes have its basis in Judeo-Christian views on morality and right/wrong.

You sound like an Obama PR director.  He voted against it, 4 times.  His views on abortion are extreme.

A majority of Americans now view themselves as pro-life as opposed to pro-choice, a notable shift from years past when pro-choice was once the majority.

Hawk

Regardless, this election is about the economy, and Obama's record is a failure.   There's no sugarcoating employment numbers, the deficit, and the debt.

Munson

If religion has nothing to do with it, then it really is about control of a woman's body.

You act as if being pro-choice means you like abortion. It doesn't. It means you believe it should be up to the woman to decide what is going on inside of her uterus.

You still haven't provided any solid evidence as to what exactly it is Obama has done ecomonics-wise that was a failure. All you've said on the matter is "The stimulus"...without providing any informed opinion on what was and wasn't a failure about it. The deficit/debt are not the extreme problems that FoxNews has convinced you they are, but you're gonna have trouble deciding if a Republican president is a success or failure when he starts shrinking the deficit/debt and the economy starts tanking and shrinking again.

I could also point out that the Republicans are just as much to blame on deficit/debt, as they have been far less cooperative in any attempt to legislate to fight the deficit/debt. We've seen obama agree to cuts in programs he would normally support, yet we watched 10 GOP candidates raise their hands when asked if they would decline a deal for $10 in spending cuts for every $1 in raised revenue.

You really haven't pointed out how Romney's policies would be any better for the economy either, btw. You've basically spouted unfounded, and sometimes downright false, talking points.

i learned my lesson last night, not sure how people are even talking to this pos
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

How many times can Hawk move the goalpost in one thread?  Seriously, I've never seen someone get so thoroughly routed in one sequence.

It would be comical if it weren't so sad.

This is the sort of blatant shtein I'm talking about.   I don't want my tax dollars diverted from public schools and given to religious institutions.   Period.

Do you get it now, dude?

Haha! Your convinced? You small minded fool. He's been going to church for more than two thirds of his life, if not more. And he's just putting on a front? Yeah...right. This is the mind of the twisted far left at it's best. What is dead in front of you doesn't fit your agenda, so it gets twisted to fit the mindset of what they feel  it should be. From what the haters say here, they should hate Obama for scurrying every Sunday like the rat he is to the alter of his fake christian god. But NO! It's all a front. A lie. The mans faith is nothing but a lie to fool the American people. Niiiice. What a great way to feel about the man you want running the country.

Farging sheeple man.

Thats it? So move to Florida and vote against it. HA! It doesn't even affect you IF it gets passed.

Weak.

Tomahawk

Lots of people go to church every Sunday and don't believe in god, and most definitely don't act like you'd think a christian would. Not saying this applies to Obama...just saying.

Rome lives in Florida.
