My local county commissioners just approved new construction on a bridge that had washed out 8 years ago.  The bridge is essentially an alternate route to go north saving 10 miles.  Plus its an alternate route into the peninsula, and this is a major point by all of the rescue crews in the area.

This thing had become the tea party's rally cry as our "Bridge To Nowhere".  I live in that nowhere, and had some fun waging war with the Cecil County Patriots.  Last laugh losers.  Go drive your rusted out pickups with Dont Tread on Me stickers, and tout your love for Chick Fil A.

Syrian rebels feel abandoned, betrayed by U.S.

QuoteWhen the regime falls, as the rebel battalion spokesman assumes it eventually will, Syrians will not forget that their pleas for help went unanswered, he said. "America will pay a price for this," he said. "America is going to lose the friendship of Syrians, and no one will trust them anymore. Already we don't trust them at all."

The man. The myth. The legend.

Meh.  Just add those dipshteins to the list who blame us for everything.

Doesnt' Syria have oil? If not and if they want our help, they better get some.

First, we already know that Obama ok'ed certain levels of assistance to the rebels, so the rebels might want to stop whining. Second, greater or more overt assistance, while the morally correct thing to do, could seriously strain relations with the only two countries big enough and powerful enough to really make our lives miserable. Working behind the scenes was probably the more prudent (if also the more morally ambiguous) thing to do.

And third, Syria has oil, the rebels don't. Two plus two equals we're not officially intervening until we know the rebels will win.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
