So the American Taliban ousted Dick Lugar in Illinois.  He wasn't conservative enough for them, despite a 75% conservative voting record.  Their local mullah Mourdock will face Rep. Joe Donnelly, which probably makes the democrats happy, because Lugar would have easily won had he not been kicked to the curb.

As if on cue, Obama is now planning to vocally support marriage equality.

As usual the comments after the article are more entertaining than the article itself.

I did get a chuckle out of the inference by the author that it's an embarrassment for Obama.  Really?  You mean the colored boy would have had a shot otherwise?

Seriously... Fence off everything between Ohio and east of Cali.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteWhile it's great to listen to your kids' ideas, there's also a time when dads simply need to be dads. In this case, it would've been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that's not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids' worldview.

Dumb farging funhole single parent Bristol Palin, lecturing 50+ year old Barack Obama on how to be a good parent and address gay marriage.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QuoteBeach Boys singer Bruce Johnston apparently isn't a fan of President Barack Obama.

"Obama is an a--hole," he said while signing autographs in New York on Thursday, according to video posted on TMZ. "Unless you're interested in never having any money and being socialized."

"And who's the Republican a--hole? Our guy isn't good," he continued, presumably referring to Mitt Romney.

"You got Reagan and Tip O'Neill ... those are the last two good guys," Johnston told fans in the video.

"Wait 'til Obama doesn't have to try anymore," he added.[quote\]

See what I mean about the "socialism" schtick?

If these cowards would just come out and say, "stillupfront" when referring to Obama, they'd feel much better.

QuoteWe just got word that Wisconsin State Rep and Speaker of the State Assembly Jeff Fitzgerald used "Shipping Up To Boston" as his walk-on song yesterday at the Wisconsin GOP Convention in Green Bay.

The stupidity and irony of this is laughable. A Wisconsin Republican U.S. Senate candidate - and crony of anti-Union Governor Scott Walker - using a Dropkick Murphys song as an intro is like a white supremacist coming out to gangsta rap!

Fitzgerald: if you and your staff can't even figure out your music you might wanna give up on the politics!!!

We stand beside our Union and Labor brothers and sisters and their families in Wisconsin and all over the U.S!

I think it's comical that the left didn't pounce on some of these issues in the first 2 years when they had all the power. The Oval office, the Senate and the House for two FARGIN YEARS. Why didn't the left jump on equal marriage, health Care for all, for the love of all that is holy pass a single budget, give a great resolution on immigration, stop the two wars in Afganistan and Iraq? Not to mention the Education disaster that is brewing in many states, especially Illinois, his fargin homestate that is in complete disaster mode finacially is cutting school funding by at least 45% across the board (including transportation funding). Our district has already cut 6th grade sports, 7th grade b sports, school's supply amd equipment funding by 2/3. I havent even seen my cuts. My 1.45mil budget has been cut the last two years, 10/11 school year 275K and 11/12 school year 395k. I've stayed on budget, but I cannot imagine what the 12/13 year will bring :boo.

Between recounts and people dying they only had the super majority for all of I think it was 6 months.

But even so, not all of the things you mentioned were politically feasible.

A public option could have certainly happened...but you had 5-8 Blue Dog dems from Red states who weren't going to sacrifice their jobs to make it happen. Because politicians suck. Same thing with the DREAM Act.

But in the end, it's in Democrats nature to question themselves, to look for compromise, to not shove everything they want in, etc....that's why there wasn't this big socialist push. Because American Democrats are not socialists, they're moderates.
