Are you saying that as a comic book nerd type fan or is the movie actually that good?

I mean I can see it being damn entertaining but TDK was able to pull off entertaining and actually being a good movie.

I'm not usually into the comic book movies but I've wanted to see this since the trailers started popping up everywhere.

It does both. It's not as deep of a story as the Dark Knight is but it makes up for it in other ways such as action and humor. It's really a kick ass movie from start to finish. Story follows the comic book fairly close...I found that out from listening to the other nerds in the theater.

Rome

Finally got around to seeing The Hunger Games this afternoon.

It was okay.  Heavy handed and way too long, but still, it was mindlessly entertaining.

Solid B.

The Avengers was incredible...and hilarious. Definitely lives up to the hype. Go see it.

Completely agree. It was awesome. Action packed, funny as hell, and as I was walking out of the theater, I immediately wanted to see it again. I was worried about a letdown from all the buildup from the solo movies... that they'd just be throwing all the characters in the movie just to say they were in it and it'd be a jumbled mess. Wasn't let down at all.

from the previews it looks like they fight themselves as much as any enemy.

did they leave room for a sequel?
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Considering there's literally 50 years of storylines to draw from, I can't imagine it would be hard to have a sequel regardless of the movie. And you know the movie will make a fortune, and if that's the case, they'd make a sequel even if it made no sense.

There will definitely be a sequel, wait until the credits end.

And yes, they fight themselves a lot which sets as a great backdrop for things to come. They do an incredible job of not focusing too much on one particular character.  They do a fantastic job of toting the line for summer blockbuster...comic book nerds...and general audiences. It pretty much appeals to everyone. Someone like igy who liked the Dark Knight probably won't appreciate it but his ilk is the exception.

lol...there would be a minimum of five sequels if literally every character in the first one died at the end

if a movie makes money and superhero movies always do there will be numerous sequels

Seriously... Christ, the reboot is probably already in pre-production.

Horrible Bosses - I think I was able to enjoy this movie a little more having read a bunch of dissapointing reviews.  If I had seen it in theater, I probably would have been disappointed like most people.  But since I went in with low expectations, I feel like I ended up enjoying the movie more than I otherwise would have.  In short, it was funny but not hilarious and Jennifer Aniston needs to do porn.  Or at least release a sex tape.  Or show some nip.

Since ticket sales were way down, I figured I'd mention that I saw a little-known movie called "The Avengers" yesterday. Essentially, it's a coming-age-tale in the form of a parable about the industrial revolution....heh.

Actually, I just wanted to mention that I saw it in 2d and enjoyed it (thanks to some friendly advice of those who saw it before me). I went that route because of the time it was playing and because I don't always like wearing the 3d glasses, especially for longer movies. I can't say that I felt like I missed anything. I brought my 8 year old son, and he loved it. I think the set-up bored him a little bit, but once the movie got rolling, he thought it was pretty awesome.

Perfect action popcorn movie, and one of the few that really make a difference seeing in a theater. I was a little surprised it got slapped with the PG-13 rating, because it was way less emotionally intense than, say, the Dark Knight. There was no cursing or overarching adult themes.

If I had a criticism, it would be that they didn't take enough advantage of the PG-13 rating by showing off more of Scarlett Johansson's  assets.

Watched 'The redemption of general butt naked'

I'm always skeptical of people who all of a sudden find Jesus after being the scum of the earth. This guy is no different. Dude has balls though. I just don't know if I'd be as forgiving as some of his victims.

Liberia: What a sad, farged up place that exists in this world. Where ex-war criminals make up part of the government, war ravaged, and worst of all, no hope for its people. Junior Seau may have cheered up after a visit to this hell hole.

It does want to make you read up on child soldiers. Some of the footage on that documentary of past children is just plain crazy.

Watch it, it's not going to change you, but it will give you new perspective on the term Third World.

Possibly one of the HBO channels...let me check...ok, it's called AUDHD, channel 500 on DirecTV...here in the L.A. area.

I have no clue what that stands for...but I'm sure you can find it on the net.
