I have absolutely zero expectation that the Consumer Watchdog Bureau will do anything to curb the ridiculous ass pounding that we get from our corporate slave masters, but it's a fantastic notion to have one in place and the obstruction and outright panic that it inspires in those who oppose it should be all the evidence that anyone needs that our politicians are not looking out for us in the slightest.

The truly interesting thing about this is the question about whether what Obama did here is legal, because the Republicans have been holding pro-forma sessions--one d-bag goes in and gavels in a session--and Obama is essentially saying by doing this that they aren't really in session and they can suck it.  We'll see what the courts say.

Well, one thing is for certain: they're looking out for some of us.

40% of the people would vote against Obama if he cured cancer.  40% would vote for him if he banged a 10 year old on live tv.

We know this.

What's up for grabs is the swing vote and they already know congress is full of shtein.

Does anyone in here think the pubs have a chance here with this group? Seems to me there is some serious straw grabbing going on at this point with this party-way more than in years past.

There is only one person I think can take down Obama in a debate and that is Gingrich. I think the others get pummeled by him including Romney.

No. We're in the exact opposite situation as we were in 2004 with Bush running against Kerry. No one was happy with Bush but the Left couldn't throw anything better than Kerry out there...so voters stuck with what they had. Romney wreaks of John Kerry and Obama's numbers are similar to Bush. He'll get another term but the election won't be the landslide it was last time.

I have a really awful feeling about this election.

If Romney or Newt get in there it's going to be beyond horrendous for working people and the poor.  People are going to vote against their own interests because they're incredibly stupid, but still, I don't think anyone who isn't filthy rich has any idea how badly they'd be screwing themselves by voting Pub.

Not that i really care, but....what ever happened to Palin, did someone put her in a rape basement?
